Moncton Flight College
I've been offered a job at MFA for their intake of Chinese students in June. I'd appreciate any info from people who have worked there. Hows the work environment? What are the chances of twin time? Whats Moncton like? Thanks again for any helpful info.
China Instructor,
Go to MFC. Compared to SJZ in China it should be like heaven. I am actually heading to SJZ in May... what the heck it's an experience. I know the stories, I was in SJZ in February.
Back to MFC, great reputation, good CFI, Bob Henderson, really nice guy at least on the phone. Lots of aircraft too, they have instructors that have been with the company forever... hence they get to teach the multi-rating. But with the influx of all those Chinese students, there is bound to be movement.
So are you leaving the PanAm contract early? Or when does your contract end? I am heading over in May, will you still be there, or the other Canadian guys? But go for MFC, great reputation, and known worldwide. Congrats again on the job offer!

Im assuming you're the guy who had done his training at Western University??
Thanks for the info on MFC. I've been hearing a lot of good things about them. But if they are so good, why are you not going to work there? And I can't really understand why you've decided to come to SJZ even after visiting here. I suppose the money is good but with your low time you need to be flying as much as possible. Also, don't expect to get into a Chinese airline without at least an ATPL. So again, you need the hours. I'm not sure if you speak Manderin or not. But, they will never allow non-mainland Chinese to be Captains here. So you will only ever be a FO in mainland China. Obviosly they don't use CRM as there are some Westerners working here who dont speak Chinese flying with Captains who dont speak English. Anyway, I'm not even sure your the guy I'm thinking of.
Thanks though
Oh ya, I havent decided what I'm doing yet. But I will at least finish my contract here which finishes May 29. Its been a productive year. 200 hours TT and O multi.

Yeah I'm the graduate from Western who was there for 3 days in February. And I'm not going to MFC, cause they want someone with more hours. I already asked.
I'm going to SJZ for my own reasons, not necessarily flying and flight hours. But thanks for the concern
Seriously though, I'm going to China for the adventure. I'm learning Mandarin right now, and I figure I'll get a lot of practice in one year. I haven't given up on the flying thing, but I'm in no rush for flight hours. Right now I just want to see the world more than anything else. And who knows, if MFC is still hiring in 14 months, I might see you there in the future China Instructor.
We all have our own reasons...

Ok then thats fine. In all honesty some people really do enjoy being here because of the money and lifestyle. So thats good that you expect it to be a good experience even after seeing it. It was a bit different for me because I came expecting something much different.
Anyway, I'm still pondering my options. It looks like I may get into some twin flying soon. If this is the case then it might be hard to go to MFC and step in the back of the line for the twin. Who knows. I'll have to wait and see.
