I haven't seen this one before, but surely this has already been discussed at length. Surely.

I have that clip saved and watch it when ever I need a pick-me-up!
I am still waiting for someone to find a link to the video of the carrier launch of a Tracker that hits a wave just as it leaves the deck! You figure the plane and crew have bought it but then as the wave decends you see the tracker on the other side climbing away. Most amazing thing I have seen an airplane do!
ANYONE WITH INFO ON THIS VIDEO!!! PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE I CAN GET MY HANDS ON IT!!!!
Thanks
Happy St. Patty's Day!

Good day, eh!
All I remember is that it was a rough-water launch from the Bonaventure. The launch officer fired the catapult as the ship's nose was dropping and shot the Tracker through green water. When you are ready to go, you advanced the throttles to T/O power and wrapped your hands around a support so the inertia will not pull your hands back, closing the throttles at launch; your feet were in stirrups so your feet would not leave the rudders, and the overhead hatches were open in case you had to ditch.
A wall of green water came in the hatches and a massive electrical failure occurred, the engines coughed and barked but keep running and the a/c returned for a landing. Presumably the water helped wash the pilots pants clean?

"What's it doing now?"

You're right, and the cowlings clearly show it to be a Grumman-made version. It also doesn't seem to be catapulted, no signs of steam?
The video I saw shows the back half of the a/c sticking out of solid water - must have happened more than once!

Well what do you know! Finally, someone can post the video!
Thank you very much!
Now, after watching the damned thing over and over.. I have to ask if it really is a tracker though? It appears to have US markings, but is the wing span too wide for that of a Tracker? I will have to review it some more but as it is late where I am, it will have to wait.
Thanks again for posting the video!
Cheers!
