I would consider a retraction...
A retraction? I've talked to several people who know a bit about the place. All of their Bandits are in the junk yard. One of the 1900s went to India because it could never get a CDN C of A. Two others took months to get flying. And the fourth one is so screwed up it still can't find a buyer.

Do you call that a well maintained fleet gr8gazu? If anything the former employees should apologize for selling seats on so much garbage.

I await the pending enforcement action to see just how deept his whole mess goes.

Twotter, I don't exactly know what rock you crawled out from and I don't know exactly what I did to piss you off. I see however you're a Cat Driver supporter or maybe even just Cat Driver with a different username and you're out to get me for some reason.

In the spirit of anonymity for this forum, I rarely reveal much about myself, but I'll go out on a limb here and tell you I have no idea who you are talking about.

Let's stop beating around the bush here. Who is the alleged "R.D." and what did he/she do to you to make you so upset? Is he the "STC" and "Airplay" that Cat Driver is obsessed about? And while you're at it, who the hell are you? Give me a clue here. If you're afraid get "personal" PM me.

CID, My point is that the intent of the original post was not to criticize maintenance but was to showcase a video that triggered alot of good memories for some that worked there.

Once any pending enforcement action is instigated, then bash away but I didn't think it appropriate without the evidence.

Considering the intent of the post, I thought your comment was a cheap shot even though it may be based in fact.

A shot? Definitely. A cheap shot? Sorry I don't agree. I think slimy operators deserve criticism. I think there are many, even ex-employees who agree that the reminder of what management did should not fade. We need to learn from mistakes or we are condemned to repeat them.

So I rained on the "wasn't Skyward great" parade. Oh well.

CID, like it or not, you took a cheap shot. If you want to criticize their maintenance, start a differen thread. As stated, this thread was for the employees.

To all the guys and girls that were in that video it was wonderful to go back in time and remember the north, my only regret is I wish I were young again.

Both my wife and I watched it a couple of times and watching the video, she, like me remembered the north where I met her flying so many years ago.

Treasure those experiences, companies come and companies go but our memories of good times never fade.

Wonderful video.

A forklift. You had a forklift? What a wimpy outfit.

Seriously, I don't know any of you but it could have been any of the places I've worked/work. Thanks for the excellent vid.

Well done, it reminded me of the north and my time at Dene, unfortunately both of our places no longer exist. I love the Cat thiat was being held hostage, had to watch that part about 10 times.

That was an excellent video. I think it demonstrates how much of an adventure living and working in the north is, when it's fun and even when it's not. One of the reasons that I went north was so I'd have some good stories for my grandkids someday, I definitely will. If I stayed in the city, it'd just be another boring job.

Haha, yeah, the ole' cat kidnap. The cat went missing and upon being found was held for ransom. Here are the pics that were sent to the owner.

Am I the only one who found CID's comments about bigfoot funny? I did not get the feeling he was being serious.

CID: I think you've totally taken this the wrong way. This video is in no way a salute to the greatness of the company, or the people that owned it. This video is a salute to great friends and a shared suffering made into an adventure. It's about making the best of a crappy hand. It's too bad you'll never get it.

I think that video does a great job of summing up the "northern experience". While I never had the dis/pleasure of living in YTH, from the looks of that video I shared a very similar experience. Poor bastards slaving away on the ramp, great parties, great people with great senses of humour somehow made the -40C go away.

fucking A!

endless you summed it up best.

I'd much rather work with a good group, have some fun and make some stories than be just another number in the line up at AC or Jazz.

It's not about the destination.. it's about the journey.
