Jazz RJ and DH8

Post by ziggy »

Quagmire had stated earlier that he had heard mostly Montreal Dash Spots left. Has anyone heard this or a different story? You'd think that they would still be needing a lot more RJ than Dash drivers with the arrival of the 705's and AC's 100's. He also mentioned that perhaps there were only 8 RJ spots left. Would those all end up in the next Groundschool?

The next ground school will be mostly, if not all, YUL/Dh-8

Jazzjetdriver and Quagmire. Where did you guys hear this from? Was it a reliable source? Just curious because i know some guys were saying that there were YYC spots in the March 20 G/S but it didn't seem like there were. And if they are hiring 8 more RJ positions (as Quagmire said) what G/S will those end up in. One other quick question. How many groups does your Groundschool get broken into? I have heard that if there are say 12 dash and say 4 RJ positions, that there may end up being 3 Dash and 1 RJ G/S, the Dash groundschools all being staggared by about a week. Is this true? I had a buddy that told me depending on how he picked, he could be in one of 3 different classes, each a week apart.

Since August, Jazz has hired some 200 pilots. Another 40 odd to go and that will do it for the hiring attributed to expansion. Any additional hiring will be to address attrition (flow of pilots to the mainline or other carriers) which is estimated to be about 200 (at least for mainline) over the next 12 to 18 months. This is all subject to change and the actual numbers will not be known until the next bid comes out.

One thing is certain, most of the YYZ positions have been filled and the bulk of the remaining positions are going to be in YUL on the Dash.

Guys, you gotta be careful what you bid.
There may still be RJ spots, but alot of the training left on the RJ is still going to people switching from the Dash, so they will all be senior to you if you do get an RJ spot.So know what you are bidding for and remember the ratio of pilot under you is just as important as total number of pilots under you if you are looking for lifestyle. It's a great place, awesome people, have fun.
