The cheapest hotel near the YYZ airport.

Post by KAG »

What is the cheapest hotel around the airport? Looks like getting a crash house isn't going to happen cause they all want long term commitments. I just need a place for a month or so. Any ideas?

The Quality Hotel on Islington is the cheapest by far. It's $55 a night, taxes in. Has a shuttle that runs from around 4AM til Midnight.

The Best Western on Carlingview gives 56.00/night or 60/night if you want to the continental breakfeast. Nice place, friendly staff. Its down past the Fox and the Fiddle and the Enterprise Rent a car place. Includes free internet if you have a laptop.

Nope. That one is $60. I'm not sure of the address.

I'm at a loss.
I can't get into a crash pad cause they all want long term commitments, and I don't want to rush into anything as I'm undecided as to what I'm going to do.
A crew house is going to happen as a business and it will be better than anything I've seen/heard of yet (seperate rooms and such) but that wont happen for alittle while.
In the interm I need a place to stay for a month or so untill I get my bearings, sell my house in YYC (this weekend I hope) and get all my stuff here. That all takes time.
So I'm thinking I will stay in a hotel for the month of April (it's actually a tax right off attached to a move up to 15 days) so that takes me to May. I need a place as of May, and I'm not to only one in this situation.

If anyone has a room (my own room) for rent for month or so that's near the airport that would be sweet.

Thanks

Try the Travelodge on Dixon Rd. They used to have a very good crew rate that included breakfast on one of the floors. I'd talk to the manager and see about a monthly deal....

KAG,

Sounds like you're going to be coming into a pile of $$ when you sell your place so why don't you just take a flyer - rent a place with 3/4 bedrooms that you could sub-let. Doesn't have to be a "crash-pad" but I bet there's lots of people looking for a place to stay in TO lately for a reasonable price. Make it sweet for somebody just arriving in town with only about a Hyundai's worth of stuff - throw a bunch of Ikea beds in 'em, get a wireless router and cable, include the bills in the rent and I bet you'd get all kinds of takers.

Cheers,

I have a plan very similar to that but it's alittle bigger and more rooms.
I guess I just don't want to rush into anything - get the best place possible, but I dont have the time just yet to put in the effort to find it - alittle busy with training and all, then I'm online straight away. So just need short term digs for now. I'll have a place by may 1...I hope...lol
