BOGOTA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- An air crash on Wednesday killed seven people and injured another six in Medellin, the country's second largest airport and capital of the northwestern Colombian department of Antioquia, local police said.

General Orlando Paez, commander of Medellin police said the one-engine Cessna light aircraft, registration HK2969, crashed to earth due to technical problems, in the Papal and Boliviarian University (UPB) grounds a few moments after leaving Medellin's Olaya Herrera airport heading for Ituango, a settlement in northern Antioquia.

Pilot Hugo Armando Andrade, two child passengers and four adult passengers all died, including an official from Nativa, the air company that owned the vehicle. The five children who survived the accident are being treated in the UPB's hospitals for burns from the fire after the plane hit the ground. Enditem

Sounds like it went in on the soccer field

BOGOTA, Colombia (UPI) -- Six people were killed Wednesday when a small commuter plane crashed in a soccer field in Medellin, Colombia, El Tiempo reported online.

All five people on board the plane taking off from an airport in Medellin were killed -- including the pilot, who reportedly died a nearby hospital.

A young boy playing on the field was the 6th victim of the crash, while several others on the field were wounded, said Colombian aviation officials.

Here's a video of a single engine Cessna crash in Columbia, although it's not sure if it's the same incident:

Thanks for the video, however I don't think that this is the one as it was posted here last week and the accident happened yesterday.
Thanks though, that video is brutal enough

Is it just me, or does it look like he took off with flaps at 20? Maybe it was over its MTOW.

My aircraft manual calls for 25 degrees of flap for short/soft field but I find I get much better performance using only 10. Wayyyyyyy too much drag with 25 down.

It seemed as if the rudder was jammed...on takeoff it yawed to the left hard....it was probably just in ground effect.

Check the date on the incident......this one was recorded 1 week ago!!! Most likely the same crash or very bad luck!!

That 02 tank probably put them out of limits!!!
IMO!
