Oilers, Flames Or Leafs

Post by Dust Devil »

Discuss. And sorry the rest of the teams don't matter. In fact only one of the above teams really matter

As long as Kipper stays healthy, the Flames are going all the way. Getting ready to watch the Flames beat the Oilers again tonight.

terrible set of options. 2 of them are just plain horible, and the other relies on their goalie.

I disagree. The Oilers don't rely on their "goalie"...

Yep. I watched the Flames/Oilers game on Saturday. Couldn't beat Kipper and Jackson. Fu** is he a brutal official.

Yah, and the Habs aren't relying on Huet right now. Give your head a shake.

Leafs suck all around, no denying that. Oilers have suspect goaltending but solid D and lots of energy and jump up front and a great coach behind the bench. Very entertaining to watch. The Flames have Sutter behind the bench and in the front office. That alone is a huge advantage over any other team. They also have the best defence in the league and the most reliable goaltender. Add to that the forwards are all committed to defensive play and grinding it out in the corners and along the boards, throw in a little bit of flash from the Iginla/Huselius line and you've got the team that will play the Sens in the Cup finals.

I'd like to see the Oilers and Flames play in the western finals, that would be the most epic series in a long time and it's also highly possible. Both teams are easily capable of beating any of the other western teams in the race.

What gives DD? I thought you were all football?

Two apologies to the Oilers in the last five days by the league - but the Oilers sit in eighth instead of tied for sixth - or better. The league should award the Oilers a point for the screw up in Minnesota. And they should suspend Jackson for the f*** up against Calgary. It is getting increasing difficult to watch the NHL with all the bs.

The Oilers are lucky to be in the playoff race at all with the goaltending they had most of the year, and in my opinion, Roloson's best days are behind him, and I don't think he has what it takes to get past the first round

Maybe. But if they miss the playoffs because of a league screw up, who compensates them for first round financial losses?

Calgary Flames. Bleah. Just typing the words induces nausea and ringing in the ears. Almost like typing Toron...To...T...t.t..t...ahh, can't do it....

See, the thing about YVR is that it's a great place to live.

The shmucks get paid lots of $$, and are (for what reason, I can't imagine) legends in the town - go out to a bar, and the kitty just lines up. If not the girls, then it's the "Canuck Nation" clowns (more on these later) - you know, the morons with the flags fluttering from those silly plastic rear-window attachments on their lowered Civics out in Surrey - they are willing to line up for hours to tell them how great they are, buy drinks etc... A guy from Podunk, Saskatchewan, with no skills apart from hockey and combine driving gets to YVR, and it's easy street - a great view from the West Van mansion/Yaletown penthouse, nice Bimmer/Escalade/Ferrari (and a pass from the cops on your speeding tickets to boot) golf 365 days, jogging round the seawall to stay in shape, no winter to speak of - what's not to like? So, you've made it - why try? Go through the motions; as long as you make it look reasonably good, (and why shouldn't you, you can play hockey in your sleep), the aforementioned Canuck Nation fools keep shelling out for the seats, Orca Bay makes a profit, then everyone is happy...
