TWA Just Can't Keep Pilots !!!!
They lost another Otter driver. He only lasted 4 days. He could aready tell what a goat @#$! compant they are. I'm sure it had a lot to do with his training captains too. Reese's pieces and God.
Interesting... now that there seems to be a lot of movement in the industry... the company is a "Goat @#$!" operation. No one seemed to be complainig too loudly about them a couple of years ago when people were all to happy to be working.
The grass is always greener on the other side, TW is by no means perfect but many an airline pilot got their start at there and others like them.

Whats the deal with you babys complaining about TWest. I worked here for over 6 years with many of the poeple you cut up here. TWest is not perfect but the only ones who hate are the ones who are scared to work. In my opinion they should never hire anyone from outside of SK and Eastern Canada including Quebec. So that pretty much means anyone from BC, ONT, or AB with a few exceptions. I wish a few more of you babys would leave especially the ones who bitch about the unreliable rotations. Go pay for your PPCs and work for peanuts in toronto if you hate it so much. Stop bitching and leave the work for the real men like us.

Good, intelligent post and great attitude. You sound like exactly the kind of person I would like to fly with.Esti wrote:Whats the deal with you babys complaining about TWest. Working hard and being exploited are two diffrent things. Just because a guy would actually like a couple days off once and a while doesn't make him a whiner.
Is it wrong to want a life outside of aviation? Work is work. Nobody ever died wishing they would have worked more.

IIRC there were a bunch of great prairie newfs at Twest as well as some ex-bc'ers who didn't bitch much and worked hard.
It's NOT hard work on the ramp, I know places that are much rougher... but the pay did suck and some of the living conditions also sucked.
If someone doesn't mind the low pay, no overtime and living in the middle of nowhere at the northern posts where milk is 12 bucks for a 4L jug... by all means spend 2 seasons with transvest and you'll probably get lucky to sit in a 'ho or if you're a superstar they'll throw ya in the Twotter...
With the good comes the bad right?

What I can't figure out is this: If someone hates working for a company so much, why stay there? Why not look for work somewhere else, instead of constantly bitching, complaining, and bringing down everyone around them?
Why does a person feel justified in going on line anonymously, sharing company information about incidents (which, I believe is a Breach of Confidentiality!) slagging a company that is paying your cry baby ass to do what YOU have chosen as a career and lifestyle? I’m pretty sure that in most cases, YOU applied for work there, they didn’t come begging you to work for them!
When it comes to people leaving a company, there are probably many reasons. I don’t think it is fair to blame the company and call them a name, when maybe it was the pilot who chose to leave for personal or professional reasons.
Do you really think that you can find a better job when you are first starting out, anywhere? What do you think your worth? If you are not getting paid what you feel you are worth, then look for and move to a place that will pay you what your worth. Chances are, you're going to be moving away from Saskatchewan.
Until that time, find something positive about the job, and the things you can use and remember at your next job that will make you more of a professional. And for god sake’s, be happy that you are even working, especially in a career as exciting and with limitless possibilities like aviation.
Let’s face it, with some of the shitty attitudes showing here, some people would be lucky to get on at McDonald’s, let alone being put in a position where the passengers comfort and safety is in the hands of an ego flying the plane.
By the way, ESTI, I resent the comment about not hiring anyone from outside of Saskatchewan. I can hardly wait ‘til you get posted somewhere and they start slaggin’ you about being from Saskatchewan!

So smashing up expensive airplanes should remain a company secret?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Well, I'm sure there is a procedure that has to be followed to report this stuff, which means it will obviously get out. But what I'm saying is, why should someone take it upon themselves to suddenly become Les Nessman, Silver Sow Award winning reporter? For example, the incident in La ronge, so vividly documented, it's obvious the person works there, and was either on scene when it happened or talked to someone who was. Everyone has freedom of speech. I just don't dig biting the hand that feeds me. Regardless of how small the meal is, at least I'm eating!Cat Driver wrote:" sharing company information about incidents (which, I believe is a Breach of Confidentiality!) "

I'm on the other side of the country now and had still heard about the slip up with the twotter. News travels fast in this industry and you just have to deal with it.
Accidents happen when operating on ice/water/gravel/dirt and sometimes even pavement, glad no one was hurt and the a/c are repairable.
I for one like reese.. and I'm pretty sure the reese's pieces bit was just a few people poking fun at a wonderfuly vibrant character. No harm meant... He's got a lot of knowledge, has a good sense of humour and is pretty straight forward and an absolute riot to be around. JR if you're readin this pm me dude!
I hope that some changes happen at twest for the better and hopefully people will stop bitching, yes the pay sucks and yes the prairies are flat and boring for westcoasters and too brown for the SoOnt folk but it aint half bad. Some truly awesome pilots and ramp guys up there!

I wouldnt be too quick to call this guy a whiner cuz from experience I know how bad TWA can be and all a pilot can do in a bad situation like that is just try to get on somewhere else and "bite the bullet" until then, even though with TWAs management it seems near impossible sometimes, some of the customers dont help matters much either. I think that to get anywhere in TWA you have to kiss some serious booty, which is something I am dead against. I believe that the process of climbing the chain in aviation should be gauged by experience and ability, not how soft your lips are.
TWA is one of the worst company's around.
sure enough they have a lot of people and people get ahead but to put up with the shit they hand out is not what we signed up for.

if there were not so many idiots in the world, it wouldn't be nessesary to have instructions on shampoo bottles

Duffman: Hey Duff lovers! Does anyone in this bar loooove Duff?
Carl: Hey, it's Duffman!
Lenny: Newsweek said you died of liver failure.
Duffman: Duffman can never die, only the actors who play him. Ooh yeah!
