How much was their lawsuit for the delay last year? And the other lawsuit for the "hard landing?"
I understand they have time on type, the f/o's were hired fresh with 250 hours and the only plane they've flown is the big tin, to bad they don't have any "experience," except for on type, and only from the right seat....
That lawsuit is a pile of horseshit. People complained that they 'injured' their backs, yet were able to walk off the aircraft, and enjoy their holidays. It's a bunch of horse shit in my opinion, but's its a shame that it has to happen to a smaller company like Skyservice.
That landing was not with a wetlease pilot, it was with a pilot who was completing his ride, however it was his FIRST time into Punta Cana AT night, which is more difficult (according to pilots I have spoken to that have flown to Punta Cana). The check pilot should have flown the leg down, but ended up letting the F/O complete the 'incomplete' landing. lol. I'm sure approriate actions were taken to fix this error.
I just think it's lame that people are centering out SSV for lawsuits, when there are numerous other ones with larger carriers throughout North America.
I personally don't think there is anymore need to get into detail on to this sidetracked topic.
However, once again, you are wrong. They DO NOT hire pilots 'fresh' with 250 hours. Mytravel contracts them over with Skyservice and almost all the pilots have around 5-6000 hours. Do you know what MyTravel's minimum is? Evidently not, because if you did, you would know it's not 2000. I currently beleive right now, it is in the 4-5000 hour mark.
