Pro wings aviation job ad
I think I am safe to say this just as advice (could be advice toward any school not just pro wings in particular) - instructors do your research on this one.
It's ironic, this kind of post coming from someone who calls himself "the professional".
Veiled, generic coments do no-one any good. Anybody with sense will check out any potential employer (in any industry) carefully before signing on. If they don't have that sense a post like yours provides no help. If there is something in particular about Pro Wings that concerns you, perhaps suggest an area (maintenance, wages, duties, etc) to ask about in particular. But even that's tacky on an open forum. Best to just suggest anyone interested PM you and deal it with them one on one.
But the crowning glory was the extension of the slag to the whole of the flight training industry.
Well done.

I am very professional, and I asume that you are probably more mature and experienced than many in this forum. It is common sense to check an employer. any young pilots who still have stars in their eyes will believe anything. It is just friendly advice and there is no slamming. I do believe the post was conducted in a professional manner. sir.

The Company permitted an aircraft to take-off when it did not meet the requirements of applicable Airworthiness Directives.
On two occasions, the Company permitted an aircraft to take-off when it had not been maintained in accordance with a maintenance schedule approved by the Minister.
This just a sample of what this outfit has done.

Pro-Wings thoughts...
I did my private license with Pro-Wings. At the time they had some really good guys instructing. Unfortunately others had earned a bad rep in the area. Since then I have obtained my commercial through a different school and learned a lot about the industry. I am definitely no expert as I am still trying to find a ramp job with a company that won’t go belly up on me again.
I would be more than willing to give anybody contemplating this job, a students view of the company (both good and bad), This being said, I would rather not do it on an open forum and I am in no position to be making any enemies in the industry.

I really wished I had read this tjread prior to going out to Pro Wings and attempting to do a Multi....
We had booked my multi training 2-3 weeks in advance. I showed up on a Thursday, started training on a Friday, told the owner/instructor that I wanted to be done ASAP because I have a job waiting for me. We trained all weekend, and I was ready for flight test on Monday.
Unfortunately, It was not until the Monday that he decided to call around looking for a flight test examiner.... Of course, the earliest he could book one was Thursday, but hey that's only like an extra $350 in hotel bills, what did I care right?
Well, Thursday comes around, we go out to do the flight test and during the run-up the r. engine has a 250rpm drop on the r. mag. So I scrapped the flight and headed back to manitoba, because the examiner didn't have an opening in his schedule for another 2-3days, and I thought to hell with that.
Long story short.... when you see a guy pull himself/jump up onto a wing to look in the fuel tank to 'gauge' how much fuel is in there, question the validity of anything he can teach you.
