CMA entry level flight time

Post by helinas »

To all the guys and gals out there that applied at CMA, could you tell us how many hours you had when you got the call for an interview with CMA and that includes total time and twin time.
I hear that they might look at you as a FO with about 500-600 hours total time.

Thanks for the time bang head

They will hire with as low as 500 hrs from inside the company (ie. low timers working ramp/ticket agent/dispatch etc.) but a more competitive number if coming off the street is the 1500 hr range.

From the March groundschool I attended:

7 on course:

5 w/ ATPL 1600-2400 hrs
min 350 MPIC, 1 had PPC & 400 hrs, another 400+ on metro etc.

2 w/ 250-300 CPL/MIFR
both had worked ~2 years ramp or dispatch

If you want to use ramp or dispatch to open a door, I'm told that you will have a pilot interview in conjunction with the ground interview. I assume that you would not be hired for a ground job if the pilot interview was not successful.

Hope that helps.

i'd be intrested to know where a ppc'ed guy came from and why he left his last employer. I thought CMA paid equally as bad as the other major 1900 guys.

cyyz,

Here are a few more who I think operate the 1900...Skyward, Pacific Coastal, North Cariboo, Wasaya, Prince Edward Air.

Shorerider, please check your PM's

Cheers

You're correct 63 Canadian 1900's in Canada.

But still, a lateral move? Those are never good. =(

But at how many of those companies do you get to wear a cool tunic, cap, wings, and tow your bag out to the plane with you?
