Moncton or Vancouver

Post by Ed »

Im from B.C and looking at flight schools

Diploma thing at Moncton or Vancouver @ Pro

Pros of Moncton:
Rent Cheap 300-500 a month
Heard good things about the schooling
1200hrs of ground school maybe usefull or useless

Cons:
$55,000 for the Diploma Program
Travel Expense to get out there

Pros of Pro IFR:
Good Schooling from what I hear
Nice Scenary in Vancouver
Cheaper then Diploma Program

Cons:
Rent in Vancouver 600-1000 a month
Rain

I would like to do Flight Instruction after Im done with all my other licences so I'm acutally looking at about 60,000 plus at Moncton. Save about 15,000 flying in Van but the rent is more. Where to go:?: My plans for the future are the majors If I chose Pro will airlines look at me if I do not have a Uni Degree but I have a good chunk of hours? or would I get pts with a diploma from mfc with a good chunks of hours?

Was also considering Pro and then well doing Instructing do a online degree

Thank you for suggestions 8) :?

Have you considered Coastal Pacific in YXX (only 2 years I think)?

CP has several different programs. Everything from rec licence to degree programs, 1 summer to 4 years.

There's nothing that says you have to live in Vancouver, you could get much cheaper rent in the suburbs or a smaller town in the Fraser Valley and commute. There's also probably some people on this board that woudn't mind sharing costs with a roommate.

I would suggest you read some of the threads on diploma/degrees and choosing schools. The search function works wonders, I highly recommend it. There's plenty of information to go through. Start here:
