Teenage Pilot In The News
TEENAGE AIRPLANE THIEF GETS PROBATION
A 16-year-old Tennessee boy who took a Piper Cherokee on a wild joyride last Feb. 1, possibly to impress his girlfriend, has been put on a
year's probation by a youth court. Nathan Frost, of Rockvale, has also
been ordered not to apply for a pilot certificate until he's 18. The boy
pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment, theft of a truck, attempted
burglary and vandalizing a mailbox in the spectacular example of teenage
drama that culminated with a pre-dawn buzzing of a neighborhood.
Among the witnesses were amazed sheriff's deputies who said it was like
watching an air show and described the boy as a "good pilot."

Article doesn't say whether or not it workedZBB118.10 wrote:Hey..I took a girl flying so I could "get some"...and I'm still single...what was buddy's secret?
So did the guy have any training at all? The article was pretty vague about how he managed to actually get the airplane...

1 year probation... But if he had a lb of pot, he'd be in jail for life right now...
He was lucky he didn't have "tax evasion" in that long list - they would have locked him up and thrown away the key.
You can kill someone, and get less punishment, than if you had not paid your taxes.
There's a message in there, from the government, as to what it thinks is most important to it.

Yup. One liter v-twin, designed by Honda to beat Ducati in World Superbike racing, and it did. Getting a little long in the tooth these days, but still a nice ride.
SP-1 with full Ti Acrapovic, PCII, soft rev, flapper, PAIR, 15/41-520, scotts damper, corbin seat, flush lights, etc. Love that v-twin torque, esp with the shorter gearing (-1 front, +1 rear) you cannot keep the front tire on the ground when you crank the throttle in the low gears. It's as if the speedometer needle is directly connected to the throttle.
Our #3 pilot had a Lamborghini Diablo, it couldn't keep up.

hahaha -- I've never heard that one before. "The Wet Panty Flight" haha. I've never asked him .... here's a picture of one of his boats, a humungous Sea Ray:Well I'd like to know what your #3 pilots income was... a Diablo was his ride? Goddamn.

He's just bought another boat, a 46 foot "skater", a twin-hull ... it has two enormous diesel engines in it. Yesterday he clocked it at 100 mph on Lake Simcoe with the GPS.
His has a different paint job, but it looks something like this:

I understand he's arranging this winter to have the diesels pulled and replaced with a pair of 1500hp T-53 turbines .... should be one of the faster boats in North America after that's done.
He's also got a 200+hp snow machine, a collection of Harleys ... I like the nitrous Night Train (re-filled the bottle)
Needless to say, Transport hates our guts
Bah.. you men have it all wrong you know??ZBB118.10 wrote:Hey..I took a girl flying so I could "get some"...and I'm still single...what was buddy's secret?
I have never ever been interested or attracted to a guy because he can fly....or took me flying...
The first guy who has ever really stolen my heart did it on the ground.. because he was sweet, respectful, and interested in what in said not what he could get me to maybe do...
he just happens to be able to fly... and as proud of him as i am... it sure as heck wouldnt have been enough alone to get my interest in him...
i dont get how guys see woman as just a piece of tail... not knocking it if thats your thing.... but i will never get it....

Maybe, but a friend of mine (Bart) is worth half a BILLION dollars, and he has women swirling around him all the time ... must be his charming personality!you men have it all wrong
That's half of the transaction. See the above paragraph for a hint as to what the other half is.i dont get how guys see woman as just a piece of tail
On the radio the other morning, a DJ was talking to a woman who called in, and the DJ asked her what would make her give a guy a kiss on the lips the first date, and she replied, "If he spent a lot of money on me".
'nuff said.
ok fair enough.. some (perhaps many) women go for that stuff....
maybe the better question is... why would a guy want to get some from a girl who's values were so skewed ?
Although i realize it is judgemental of me to suggest their values are skewed in such a material society ....
i guess i just think its sad so many people are missing out on the real connection you can find with someone through having a sincere interest in them and not their pocketbook....
im sorry if the last post or this one sounded snotty...
i guess its the girl in me that has been hurt by a guy who was interested only in "getting some" as ZBB118.10 is..... and let me think he was actually interested in me.... I felt pretty silly when i realized i spent so much time hanging out with him and showing him i might care about him only to find out he wasnt worth my time... (then again maybe he realized i wasnt worth his since i wasnt going to give him what he was actually looking for...)......
It matters not to me.. not in the big picture.. im with someone who treats me better than i could have ever imagined.... and for that he always has my respect and support... pocket book or no pocket book.... flying or no flying....
i just wonder.. dont people who use outside things to impress women (like yourself ZBB118.10 or headley's pal) ever wonder or worry, who will really be there should you not have those things to woo those women?
what if you became too sick to pass your medical.... or lost all your money... does it not bother you these people who show interest now most likely will not find you of interest tomorrow?

The problem with most guys is this: Anytime a woman who can express herself intelligently, share her emotions easily (and without ignoring common sense), and shows a devotion that is not based on material things shows up, the typical "guy" will do one of two things. They turn tail and run to the bimbo-types who will love them for their possessions or status and allow them to do whatever they please, or they start insulting/degrading the woman, or flat out tell her to shup up. And what makes most typical guys do this? I have no idea, but I assume it might be the fact that she will see through the lies, the ego, and general lack of sincerity and creativity. If you were worth any amount of her time, she wouldn't care if you lost your money, fast cars, or valuable possessions.
Whats the joke? How do you know if there is a pilot in a bar?
"He'll tell you"
If you have to take a girl flying to "get in her pants" then clearly you should rethink your strategies. I mean, its pretty costly to rent a plane. And if you boil it down, its kinda like you're paying for sex.

i have to wonder, how we went from a funny article about a dough headed teen that just wanted to show off and have a bit of fun, to big toys for big boys, to the way too serious subject of relationship dynamics ... oh well, segways and tangents, and a little left field...
i like cheese....

Not really too off topic. I mean, the article said the teen was trying to impress his girlfriend. And if we use a little "Sherlock Holmes" tactics, we can figure out that if he thought impressing her by stealing an airplane and buzzing her neighborhood was a good idea, then he clearly doesn't have the intelligence to impress her in any normal, sane, and logical way.water wings wrote:i have to wonder, how we went from a funny article about a dough headed teen, to fast boats, to the way too serious stuff ... oh well, segways and tangents, and a little left field...
