How much weight do references carry for getting on,is it as important as before
I don’t really have any knowledge on the subject – but I think it’s safe to say that ten referrals are plenty. I think that if your numbers match up, you’re sure to get a call eventually. From reading other posts here, it just looks like it takes time. Check out some of the older threads on the first page.stratcat wrote:i was just wondering if theres a point where theres too many,im up to close to ten internals that ive flown with. Will getting more do me anygood or not.
I hope you meant, "worked with," not "flown with," I just have a mental image of you going to the cockpit and asking the guys, "hey I'm timmy, put in the good word for me...."stratcat wrote:i was just wondering if theres a point where theres too many,im up to close to ten internals that ive flown with. Will getting more do me anygood or not.
It doesn't matter how many internals refs you have if you don't have the basic requirements. The first step is a blind step comparing everyone's time, education and work experience, then if you are chosen, your number is matched to your name and they check your refs. So if you can't get by the first step, it doesn't matter how many people you know. Check out the other thread on this subject, there is more in depth info there.

I've heard that ref's only count if the interview doesn't go well? This is from an inside source that says everything is changing in hiring. Looks like the buddy system is falling. I guess this is good and bad, but for those who were holding out in doubt, I guess it's the oxymoron of their career. If a pilot is considering an airline job, WJ is the best choice without a doubt. Only concern is future competition from new brands.
Intellivision made me a pilot.
