Mainline AC PFO letter....

Post by rockhard »

Hey folks....

Just wondering what the average wait time is to receive the dreaded PFO letter. I hear about some guys waiting for months (ie: 5-8) but surely this cannot be the norm.

Has anyone got some idea ..... 2, 3, 4, 5 weeks????? I've heard they send them out relatively quick ( ie:2 weeks) but I can't confirm this.

Just wondering.... and trying to figure AC out. I'm sure having a hard time though. These guys have good poker faces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the guys I have seen get the PFO letter (undeserved) it has been in the 6-8 week range. Although I do know someone who got one after 7 months.

They tell you in the interview that you'll know in about a month... Been much more than that for me and still nothing!

I'm in the same boat. Have you done your medical yet? Good luck and keep us posted.

Hey flyindude... Yeah I did the medical same day as the interview, and haven't heard anything so I'm hoping thats a good thing! Good luck to you too! I wish I could be a fly on the wall in that office

Anyone know if AC delays calling you if someone was recently taken from your company?

I've know some peeps who received the call right away (within 2 weeks), and others I've been told have waited up to 5 weeks.

I am at 3 weeks and still no word. I am starting to sweat it a little bit but who knows how the process works.

Has anyone out there gotten the call for the medical after waiting around for more than 2-3 weeks? If so please enlighten me, because I'm growing more nervous by the day.

On the flip side I haven't gotten the PFO letter either, so I guess that is one positive.

Their hiring process is not the easiest to figure out that's for sure.

Pardon the ignorance, but what is a PFO letter?

Eastcoast,

I would think that since you haven't gotten a letter you're in good shape.

good luck

I haven't gotten a letter as well. It's gonna be 4 weeks this Friday. Are medicals only booked when a tentative course date is available for you?

Thanks for any reply and hope it all works out for those waiting.

Has anyone heard what kind of time table there is for receiving the PFO letter? I realize some have waited a while but has anyone heard of someone getting it right away (ie: 1-2 weeks). Personally, I have not but I'm hoping others out there could shed some light.

The reason I ask is that I'm at 4 weeks and I would like to think I've passed some kind of hurdle. If some are getting them right away than I could at least feel like I'm getting somewhere.

Hook a brother up woth some info. Don't hold back!!

so once again does PFO also mean that you probably won't have chance to be hired in the future?

WOW,

YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME..... 10 WEEKS SINCE YOU INTERVIEWED AND THEN YOU GET THE LETTER. I DON'T INDERSTAND HOW IT CAN TAKE THAT LONG TO TELL SOMEONE NO THANKS. WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT.

SORRY TO HEAR THE NEWS! I'M SPEECHLESS.

I am aware of someone who received the PFO after 7 months. I guess once you are in the pool you sit there untill you are called (ie. in the top 19 scores for a 19 people course... or until you are forced out the bottom of the pool by other candidates who score higher. The scores as you know are based on many items but they come up with a TOTAL SCORE...

If that takes 10 weeks or 7 months I guess they have no control. What they can control is a flow of information. They can at least tell you you have qualified and are in the hiring pool..

Good Luck to All!!

I think they're being very careful to balance their courses too... I've noticed a balance in each course from various areas such as Jazz, the Military, French Speaking, only one from any company per course, and people from various levels and positions in aviation, etc all seem very evenly split for the most part... I wonder how those fit you into the pile...

If you can drop out of the bottom of the pile are you scored on a bell curve? If so maybe you could be in the pool for a while then get a PFO... Oh I wish I knew more...lol

One thing I do know is I'm glad the medical is done with because my blood pressure doubles every time I open the mail box! Sorry to hear those that got the PFO... And Good Luck to those still waiting!

Are you told you are in a pool? Or is that just an assumption due to no PFO.
Just curious. :?

I was 5 weeks from the interview till called for medical. An hour after the medical they called to offer me a position.I guess if you get called for the medical you are hired unless dr. marks you as unfit or have to get more tests done.
Good luck to all.

I've heard that the medical is quite pricey for the company, so that's probably a good assumption.
