July is all filled and first course in Aug too...it will be fall courses now that we are filling. we are way ahead of the game, interviews will slow alittle so we don't get too far ahead.

Some comments from the folks getting recent interviews and offers would be nice. Time, experience etc.

Mixed bag..3500tt to 4500tt or greater. usually fitting into the 705 or corporate/scheduled jet or cargo jet type experience and a few from georgian and cma, canjet, and even cathay, ryan air expats trying to get back to Canada...

Hey F.L

What is the forecasted hiring like for the rest of this year? And how many per course?
Is next year looking as bright for new hires?

Cheers

continuing courses through the rest of this year and a slightly slower but constant pace through 2007. Having said that, the net total of hires for 2007 will still be the same as 2006(roughly 100 to 125)WJ will obtain new a/c roughly every 2 mos in 2007.

Don't worry Disco Stu, people in the north need you for their pop and chips. WestJet will call soon enough.

Hey Flightlevels,

Are you folks having any trouble finding those kinds of time and experience? (705, corp jet, military and 4000TT?) I kind of figured that with all of the hiring over the past year, the "experienced ones" would be sucked up.

Is the stack of resumes that fits the bill high?

Curiously yours,

N

No trouble yet, we still take the 704 guys too just not as many. This is where the internal rec. certainly helps.

Hi Flightlevels,

I heard yesterday that the July and August courses were cancelled.

Any truth to this, or can you confirm?

If so, delivery problem w/ boeing or whazup?

How many new-hires this year?

Thx 8)

What is happening is that some courses are being cancelled, so that there will be some every 6 weeks, as opposed to every 3.

It is just because we seem to have caught up for now, though we will have to see how the new work rules affect staffing through the summer.

Hiring will continue steadily, but at a slightly lower rate.
