Halifax is ok, but Newfie John still wins out in my books.istp wrote:Agreed! St. John's ROCKS!
(The Lower Deck in Halifax is a blast also. Don't forget to go up to the 4 corners and grab a donair, and eat it on the church steps!)

BTW its not 4 corners, or pizza corner. The best semi-non-official title for this place is losers corner. Been there a few times myself. If you can't get laid, then a donair or slab of pizza is the next best thing.
Wahunga!

Personal Recommendations
The "Saloon" next to the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou, China. One little Chinese girl in there dances the night away with a 3 meter long boa constrictor!!!!
"Sukhumvit Soi 33", in Bangkok. Numerous Mini-Bars with beautiful ladies in cocktail dresses, to entertain you…
"Hooters", at Clarke Quay in Singapore. Great fun, where you’d least expect it (Wink)
"Delaines Pub", Manhattan, NY. Fun Irish pub, with lots of attitude.
“Smiley’s Bar” in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Beyond your wildest, wildest, wildest imagination!!!!
"Fuego Salsa Bar", in Malta. Great place to meet Foreign girls and tourists, but the local girls are Bit%hes!
"The Bronx Bar" in Luxembourg, typically quite, a little boring, but with great staff.
And the absolute winner…. Sharkys Bar, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I can't tell you why, as there may be children reading this forum.

Sharkey's? Really? I preferred the Heart of Darkness, myself, but I'd heard it was being closed when we left in 2002. My wife never felt so comfortable hanging out with me and a bunch of hookers as she did at the 'Heart". LOVED Phnom Penh. The absolute Wild West in the East! The Foreign Correspondant's Club was a good place to chill beside the river (not necessarily party), and the French restaurant around the corner was outstanding; can't recall the name right now, though. Good memories.
Also, the DMZ bar in Hue and the Nha Trang Sailing Club in, yup, Nha Trang for the Vietnam stopovers.

I'm pretty sure that the French restaraunt your thinking of is "La Croisette". Right?Airtids wrote:TOGA:

I COMPLETELY forgot about the Heart of Darkness in Phnom Penh, (I think it's still open, or reopened). I guess I have a bad memory of the Heart of Darkeness in Saigon, a really bad memory!
I've been to the "Sailing Club" in Mui Ne a number of times. A great place to relax. I guess I don't have to tell you about the beaches and climate.
