Ummm... for the US side of the operations, sure.

If you want to fly for FedEx under the Canadian flag... might we suggest Morningstar?

Why how much do the "real" FedEx employees get? I'm assuming that you mean the American pilots of course

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Well UPS pilots are the highest paid airline pilots in North America and Fed-Ex can't be far behind. I doubt Morningstar is comparable.

I've heard that the US military does use FedEX for missions that are classified 'top secret'. US citizenship is required for security reasons.

I believe the stated 5 year resident status. Is a FEDEX provision to carry U.S First class mail.. At least that's what they say

Also to get on with FEDEX you need to have somebody on the inside. You schedule a pre-interview meet and greet with your sponsor and a member of the management team. If they like you you'll get a call for the interview.

Great company to work for... Just have to get jobs like that here in Canada!!!

Good Luck

No no, you've got it a bit mixed up there. Those are HOURLY rates. $206 per flt hour. As for the comment about UPS being the highest paid, I was quite sure it was FedEx on top of the heap but I could be wrong.

That is based on 74 hours a month. In fact cargo pilots fly a lot of overtime, especially around christmas, which boosts the paycheque quite a bit.

I could be wrong about UPS being the best, that is quite old information. Regardless airline cargo ops is where the money is if you want to work.

This does not eliminate Canadians, or other nationalities, but in some cases CAN eliminate an American Citizen.

The five years of residence is required to fullfill the TSA Security Check process. Anyone, including a US citizen who has not lived in the US for the past five years, would be exempt from employment consideration.

The Security Clearance required (Govenment Shipments, Mail Contracts, Etc) is a "General Clearance" that can be obtained by foriegn nationals, such as Canadians. I know this for fact, as I've been through the process.

The requirements for consideration of employment is the "Right to Live and Work in the US" (Citizenship, Green Card, Etc) and the ability to complete the TSA security requirments. Those does not prohibit foriegn nationals.

As a matter of interest, I know a Canadian, who is a FedEx MD-11 Captain.

This is not exactly correct. Typically, if the shipment is classified "Top Secret" or "Eyes Only", it is "hand carried" by a Military Courier on a on chartered aircraft, and does not leave that couriers hands.

Althought the specific procedures can be slightly different in each region, this is the general procedure.

I can tell you - with absolute certainty - that at least one Canadian (with a US Green Card) has flown a US Military Courier - holding "Top Secret" dcouments, from a US Air Base in Italy, to a US Air Base on the West Coast of the US, in a Chartered Aircraft.

81 hour monthly guarantee.
Maybe a stupid question, but do they consider seniority based on years with the company or years in position? Paying somebody $26k to sit in the left seat of a 757 seems a little odd.

According to a UPS B767 Captain, who recently resigned to join another airline, it's based on years with the company.

For example, if as a first officer, you could hold captain after five years, you would move from $97 per hour, to $154 per hour. But, you would give up your higher seniority on the F/O scale (Schedule choices, etc) . If your "Standard of Lifestyle" was more important to you than holding Command, you could remain on the F/O list, buy would not enjoy that immediate salary increase.

To answer your question, If - for whatever reason - your seniority allowed you to bid that B757 Captain position after only one year, then yes, that is what you would be paid.
