Tailwheel Training

Post by PilotInTraining »

I have about 120 hours and I'm looking to get some tailwheel time. Can anyone recommend a flying club/flight school/a person in eastern Ontario (ideally the Ottawa/Kingston area) where I could get checked out in (and possibly rent) a taildragger?

Thanks.

I don't know of anyone in the eastern ontario area. You might have to drive a bit to Brampton.

They have a PA18 supercub (very benign tailwheel trainer) and a comprehensive checkout program. The plane is also available for rental once you're checked out.

Don't know if they're still there, but John Douma and Ken Lam were doing the checkouts.

Have fun

In Deseronto ( a little ways past Kingston) there's a citabria. The place is called "first nations air service" or somehting like that. The airport is called tyendinaga I think.. flew there a few years ago, they treated me well.

I did some tailwheel training in Deseronto (FNTI) . Training was top notch when I did it. They have a Citabria. Mike Musclow is the instructor to get if you can.
