Commuter Bids

Post by ziggy »

Hi everyone

I am a new hire with Jazz and have my first bid going on right now. I was curious as to what to bid to enable myself to fly as much as possible while i am in yyz. Someone told me it is better to bid 4 days in a row, then you only need one day off compared to doing 5 days in a row where you now need 2 days off in a row. I will be on reserve as well, so is A better then B for actually getting to fly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Ziggy,
Welcome to the company.Go to the bid site online on the bottom of the opening page there is an icon the block builders put there so you can get as much out of your bid.Basically how to bid properly with senority in mind. The RSV rules are also there pertaining to our CA.Hope this helps.

On that page is also the ability to notify them that you are willing to work up to 16 days in a row. Great for commuters, however, hardly a chance that anyone in the bottom part of the seniority list would get that but you can bid it.

CARs violations are a pet peeve of mine.

I'm not familiar with this program, but are you sure that it will allow you to work up to 16 days in a row?

If you have an OPS SPEC you can do it... and I would say that Jazz likely has the OPS SPEC.

Where do you find the info to make the most of your bid? I looked on the jazzbid site and I can't find it.

Thanks

CARS trumps all. Jazz DOES NOT have any such ops spec. We are bound by the same rules as everyone else. F/A,s are the only people allowed to work 16 days.
