Quit your god damn crying..

Post by Mike Falk »

Alright, I've been on this site for awhile and have noticed that the crying is getting to be frickin pathetic.

Perfect example, admarhin puts a job add in the employment forum looking for pilots. First post is bitching saying good luck with that who with those time requirements wants to wash a plane, I'll work somewhere else where I can be a lazy ass instead of making my time useful and helpful.
Whats the pay, you live somewhere expensive oh pay must suck ass than, so you bitch, WTF. shut the hell up and ask instead or writing that you know now what the pay is, maybe it is better than average even when rent is takin into account.

I'm sick of listening to most guys on here bitch about having to do other stuff than flying a plane, you know what fine fly the plane if thats all your there for, but a good employee will do the extra without being asked to do it, want a good reference form employer than do the extra and shut the F$$K up.

One particular person that I know, I was talking to the other day about jobs flying twins. This particular person has 600 hours total time, I told him that he should look for a job right seat on a navajo and do some ramp with them as well, that way at 1000 hours he can go captain.
His response shocked me, If I leave here I am NOT going to do ramp again it'll be flying. Oh my fucking gawd, dude you got 600 HOURS, get your head outta your ass, you want the time than pay the price dont think that your going direct to AC with that time, If you are below 1000 hours you WILL work the ramp and do dock if you dont' instruct.

People on here are bitching about pay, bitching about bonds, employers, whatever. Its oh industry is moving really well we don't have to do this, oh this company is doing this, what they got a promisary note. OH NO. Shut up and deal with it, if we as pilots were loyal to a company than none of this bond shit would be here, but the second something better comes along we bail, well no shit a company is looking out for itself and doesn't care if you don't want to work on contract.

Just quit bitching on here that they wanted you to do this.

I'm Done, have atter

 you'll be doing one form of ramp work or another untill you work for a tier 3 or bigger. Get used to it.

My only comment is pay. If the company is paying you a good wage, do the work. If not, don't. Your time is worth something.

You will always be doing extra work in this industry, from helping the flight attendants clean the cabin to unloading barrels; but there is nothing wrong with being choosy. I chose to not go to a company that serviced mining sites coz I could see that I didn't want to spend my days humping barrels and drill rods. I went to the Wet Coast and flew people, and only had the odd trip of groceries or dynamite to move. I did my stint flying tubs of fish in Saskatchewan and I chose another course. Should I be interested, which I'm not, I would never work for Westjet because I am tired of cleaning cabins and prefer to be treated like a God.

There are options, and a clever person will exploit them. If Joe Blow doesn't like to work the ramp, he will take another path...

And for the record, your complaint sounds just exactly like the ones you were complaining about, Mr. Falk.

The worst part is that companys still expect us to work for free!
( and the worst part is,, I did work for free 3 days this year, I didnt find out till later that I wasnt being paid)

...Or just bitching about bitching! That whole post sounded like the same ol' drivel you're cranky about having to read! Now you're forcing us to read more. I'm sure there's a way for you to say all of that in a constructive way... why not find it? Are you a part of the cure, or part of the disease?

Constructive Shankdown :)

That's a little narrow minded. There are other avenues.

Why do pilots always rejoice when someone makes less than us, or when someone has to do a shitty job somewhere else, or when someone is forced to "pay their dues"....we should be happy when a 200 hr wonder gets a navajo job, or when someone doesn't have to work the ramp...
higher wages and better quality of life help us all and we should all strive to change this industry...just cause some of us had to do the shit jobs, doesn't mean that we should expect the future pilots to do it just to "pay their dues"....we are truely our own worst enemies in this industry and as long as we act this way, the employers will use it to their advantage... :x

and you consciously took a pay cut!!!! Image

i have been waiting all season to use that...

but i agree, MF. I don't get why pilots have become so insanely lazy and holier than shite. We have got to stop thinking that job title must also entail job description. My first job as "float pilot" also meant cargo loader, ticket taker, booker, etc... suck it up, kids.

Don't let yourself be taken advantage of, but don't think your boss wants to be screwed by a lazy ass shite, either. Instant Karma is under rated!!

Lets be fair on this, If you check the job description FIRST and then find its not what its cracked out to be then bugger off and find something else instead of sitting about moaning. Its in your own hands

Stop whining guys. The economy is a lot better now than when I started out in the industry. Everyone pitched in and helped. What really counted was a positive attitude.

Damn it, I don't want to pay my 30k bond and still have to clean the plane. You make the choice, either I pay you the bond or I do the extras!!!!

And yes, Ahramin's ad stated no bonds... =)
