No, but it's gotta be one of the best places in the country to spend it, in my experience!

No, I'll be working. Having lived there for 26 years, no, it isn't the best place to spend it, or at least not if you're from there.

I guess maybe because I was escaping Cornwall the few times I was there for Canada Day it seemed so good, may have some bearing on my thumbs up? :?

I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about it.

I'm just waiting for a buddy of mellow_pilot's and mine to call me back, a few loose ends to tie up, then I just MIGHT be in the Paseo tomorrow morning!

Stay tuned...

Anyone want to party with me and mellow_pilot in Ottawa tomorow night? Canada Day in the Nation's Capitol. Could be a once in a lifetime experience...

AvCanada and Canada meet up... Cool!

Here's the deal, folks.

I'll be staying in the Carleton University dorms with mellow_pilot (separate rooms adjoining bathroom) on Canada Day night after the festivities downtown. BYOB.

It would be cool if I got kicked out of Carleton again. (Booted in 1991)

Everyone is invited.

I will be standing outsie Alfie's Pub at 14 Waller Street at midnight smoking a cigarette. We will then go boozin' or cab or free bus it back to res where there will be booze, because you will BYOB, right?

That's the plan.

See ya there.

I'll try to do internet updates until that point. Make it to Ottawa. Make it happen!

BTW, if you want to get a room for yourself, there are NO hotel rooms available in Ottawa. If you wanna party in the res, call the residences at (613) 931-2576, and say, "Hey, I wanna stay in the res. Graham told me to call this number." (That's my real name, and it carries no clout whatsoever, though if a guy named Karl is working there, he's pretty cool, and from Sturgeon Falls.)

As an aside, mellow_pilot is boarding a plane in Vancouver as we speak to attend Canada's celebration. He's coming from VANCOUVER, you can hop in your car and drive from Toronto or Hamilton, or Montreal.

AvCanada in Ottawa on Canada's greatest day! Make it happen! And if you miss us, @#$! it! You were in Ottawa on Canada Day! An experience of a lifetime! ROAD TRIP!! You'll never forget it!

Alfie's Pub 14 Waller Street. Midnight. I am not shitting you.

Man... I miss the mother land. I'm stuck here in Teebs, but I'm still going to have an awesome time (because I have explosives and booze). Graham, have a blast in O-Town, say hi to BB for me and anyone else from B1090 ;) Happy Canada day!

I can't say for sure if I behaved or not this weekend as it is mostly a blurr. There are quite a few empties and mystery bruises that point to probably not.

I got back to Sudbury today. A great weekend!

mellow_pilot and I took the bus with a bunch of partying teenagers down to the fireworks, then had an impossible time catching a city bus back to the Carleton residences.

As we were waiting for the bus, I exchanged a few words with a girl that was waiting at a bus stop on Bank St.. Then I started talking with mellow_pilot about my plans to grow a mullet, and the girl RAN away. (Mental note: Women are scared of even the notion of a mullet.) We walked forever, then found a cab.

The next day we went to the Aviation Museum, and hooked up with kim_2222 just for a bit.

Later that day, we hooked up with a guy from our Sault College class and his girlfriend. We'll just call the guy The Tranche.

Sunday cocktails at res, then we cabbed it down to the Market and boozed it up on the patio at the Lafayette House and the Dominion. 2 nice dumpy hotels.

Monday morning, after mellow_pilot left to go back to the airport, The Tranche and I thought we would be really scholarly, and walk through a group of Shad Valley participants wearing togas. Apparently Shad Valley is some kind of genius science/leadership thingy program for high school kids.

Then I drove back to Sudbury, and I broke my previous land speed record in the Paseo. Oh yeah, I picked up a hitch hiker in Arnprior and brought him to a truck stop near Sudbury. We talked a lot about drugs, and he gave me hemp necklace with some beads in it, but now my car really smells.

Here are a few pics from the trip:

watch it istp previous web posters have been charged and convicted from photos/video of speeding, the funny part is they supplied the evidance. Cops just downloaded it and then tracked them down.

Must be a malfunction, your Tach has 5000rpm and your speedometer is topped out at 200km/h. So not an official record because you haven't red lined yet. :toimonster:
