Letter to Air Canada

Post by Spruce Moose »

Hey guys, it was suggested in another thread that you should send a letter to the airlines you want to work for someday, just to let them know your interested. I just finished up one that I want to send to Air Canada, but i'm not sure who or what department to mail it to.

Can anybody help me with this? I thought about sending it to management but it probably won't be the same people there by the time I apply. Then I figured I should send it to the chief pilot, but I can't find an address for him on AC's website.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all this sort of thing is now handled through the HR outfit Air Canada uses and all application / employment material must be sent through cyberspace via the on-line application site. You could try sending it to Flt Ops, but I'd definitely attach the letter to your application.

Good luck!

The ugly greenheaded monster called Jealousy rears its ugly head.

Didn't your Daddy hold you enough when you were kid, Squid.... or maybe he held you too much.

Squid.... you obviously don't know Jeremy; hope you get your private soon (remember to pull back on the controls to go up, and push to go down).

Congrats on the job Jeremy, you deserve it as much as anyone if not more.

I like the idea of sending a letter out to Air Canada... do they keep it on file for the time when you send your resume? I mean sure it would be great if they knew that you were interested before anything, but will they really care when it comes down to hiring process?

Good Luck !

Send it to anyone.

Send it Registered mail, that means someone needs to sign for it..

If and When you get an interview, you can always reference the letter(that you photocopied) and be like, "see I've always wanted to work here, since 20XX, I've been applying since 20XX...."

Sounds good in theory, but if you actually think about how stupid that would sound in an interview, it's idiotic.

Interviewer: "Why do you want to work at Air Canada"

You [Professor Frink]: "Well, let me uhhh, reference my letter from 20XX here [rustles through bag, smooths out crumpled letter] ahh here....[slides letter across table] if you'll just see the date on that. Ahem I think that says it all? I sent you a letter 5 years ago clearly stating my desire. QED!"

Send the letter as a way of showing continued interest. Once you've actually gotten the interview call, it's job is done.

I wouldn't expect a response, I do rest my proven case though about dad's help. We even talked about it face to face. does that help.

Thanks for the replies guys! :)

That link was a great help popo. From the list it looks like I should send it to Bob Clarke or Capt. Campbell.
