IATRA Question

Post by maniac779 »

I plan on writing the IATRA at aerocourse this January and had a few questions about the exam.

What is the subject material it primarily consists of?
What is the difficultly like? How does Aerocourse do as far as preparing you for the written?
How much benifit would it be to a fresh commerical pilot with around 300-500 hrs?
Finally, does it provide any other privileges aside from the ability to work in a multi crew environment?

Thanks for the info

I suggest you run a Search of the word "IATRA" on this forum, and you will find the answers to your questions.

Well I never wrote the IATRA exam. You dont need it to fly two crew. I belive its only required for two crew over a certain weight prob 12,500lbs so technically you dont need it to fly a King Air even. Just go up north and get tons of PIC on a single and then worry about two crew multi and all that. I know thats easier said than done Id say write it only gives you more options for you.

It's $35 for the IATRA.. Big deal in the grand scheme of things..

An extra rating is an extra rating, good for you.

AeroCourse.. They were amazing for the INRAT..

Don't think AeroCourse offers the "IATRA" course last time I checked, the information is covered under their ATPL course, so you may learn some extra items that you might not need.

But when I sat in, they told you what you need to know, "concentrate" on.. So I'm sure they'll tell you, this is ATPL stuff don't listen, or this will be on the IATRA take notes..

The subject matter will probably be for the ATPL..

This is what you must/need to know for an IATRA.
