WestJet CSA

Post by flyinghigh »

Hi everyone, i am writing my application letter to apply for CSA based in Vancouver, but i have several questions that i am wondering....

1)I don't have much local experience, as i just immigrated to Canada last year and is working for a temp office job since then...does it affect my chance to get notice?!
2)Do you need to have lots of CS experience to get hired?! Coz i have a bit different background, i have more office experience than CS experience, but i have airline experience though and i really want to get out of office work and i find myself more suitable to work in CS field.

I don't even know if i should send in my application, as i know lots of company out there prefer to hire ppl with more local experience, that's the problem i have when i am looking for jobs since i moved here

Any advice for me is much appreciated! :)

Put your application in.

You will be hired mostly based on your personality and attitude. You will be trained for the job. Lots of CSA's and FA's here have no previous experience.

Good Luck

WestJet hires for attitude, trains for skill. Knowing a second language helps, especially since Vancouver is very multicultural. If your a very, very, very happy person you'll make it!

I suppose they could? WestJet hires for attitude and trains for skill. Realistically though, they want customer service experience etc. as outlined in the job advertisement. Here’s a quote they find important: “You can learn more about a person in an hour’s worth of play than in a day of conversation” – Plato.

I think starting wage for CSA is $10.45/hr. Something close to that at least. For the coverletter, here's what you should do.

In your application, go:
-------------
Coverletter
-------------

sdfasdfdf

---------------
Why WestJet
---------------

asdfsdf

---------
Resume
----------

sdfasdfadsf
Make sure you answer Why WestJet, it's very important. Tell us why you want to be the next Customer Service Agent. You can message CrazyCarl on the forum here, he was in the last CSA class and was recently hired. For him, he applied, had a pre-screen and then was invited into a group interview / open house. A little bit later and he was hired. Good luck! It's a tough process, put a smile on your face, drink lots of kool-aid and you'll do fine.

Flyinghigh,

Don't worry about "getting in" soon. With the CSA turnover rate WestJet is experincing you won't have to wait long. Then, once you're in, you'll realize why the turnover rate is so high.

Anyway, have fun while you can and good luck!
