strange but true

Post by Seb »

Typical dilogue between a newbie and the avcanada mastergeek:

- Willing to sell my mother for a job can anyone help?

- Go fly a kite, squirt

- Hey, if you have nothing positive to add then fck off

- Oh yea, you only have 2 post dillhole i got 200, you should be kissing my feet right now cause i can make your career real short, and get a sense of humore cause with an attitude like that you're never gonna be able to take it up the ass. I already know where you live, one word to a couple of people and you're finished.

- forgive me master, it wont happen again

----------------------------------------------------------

Little exaggerated for comical effect, nevertheless, see alot of sheat like that lately, whats up with that? Its not the cutting up that bugs me but the recycled dialogue, i've seen that a few times, just find it a little odd.

I've seen that too Seb...

I'm in no position to offer anyone help with finding work, so my perspective may be somewhat different than others... But I reckon there are some slightly-better-off-than-the-next-guy types here abouts, that like to dwell in that slightly-better-off-ness... They can feel some sense of power by being more into the game than the newbies... Like a 12 yr old feeling superior to a 10 yr old.

On the other hand, if you sift through the few bits of garbage that tend to taint the whole pile, I think you'll find a majority (sometimes a trifle silent) who can offer helpful hints and advice to up-and-comers.... And even some of those who . eggs are often just trying to have a bit of a yuk (albeit at someone elses expense), cause there's a lot of not-so-fun reality in this game sometimes... Besides, the newbies need to learn to develop thick skin... it WILL serve them well in years to come.

Hope that tickles your truth bone, just a hair....

Cheers,
Griffon

Also strange but true....

A couple days ago I was outside the hanger attempting meaningful work when a 172 landed and pulled up onto one of our parking spots.

Me: son of a b*tch, parking is one the other side.

(After they get out) Me: Hey hows it going, are you guys looking for parking for a while?

Pilot: Ah we're just here to visit (my boss), I'm (can't remember), and this is Sparky.

Passenger: Hi, Sparky Imeson from Jackson Wyoming, nice to meet y'all.

Me: Hey nice to meet ya (hmm, Sparky, sounds familiar??)

__________

So ya, I guess he was up in Southwest BC visiting a friend and on a ride along in the 172. Nice guy! We had him sign our 2 copies of the "Mountain Flying Bible", shared some stories, then he was off. Quite unexpected experience!

I use to get idiots that would tie their planes down in parking spots clearly marked with company logos and these convient tie down straps laying their. You'd get back late and their is a plane sitting in your spot. And miles of empty transient parking clearly marked. I usally was to tired to care and would park some where else. I got so pissed off once, I got a tug and towed it to the far end of the field and left it in foot high grass. You should have seen the guy shit his pants the next day. I watch from the cafe with a smile on my face.

Oh yea, go fly a kite, no wait go F/O a kite, you can't even hold the string...

Hope that's the reaction you were looking for, because I have to give the people what they crave.
