Post by Sault_Ace »

Are there any true bush pilots still flying, and who are they? I mean true bush guys, not guys who just fly in the north!

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re a pilot.

You mean a pilot who carries his own repair tools, lands to hand whittle a propeller out of a log, kills skins and cooks his lunch en route, smokes a pipe while flying, and lands anywhere. I doubt it, but maybe up in AK somewhere. Some stuff I've seen in the arctic comes close, but not old school true grit bush pilot stuff.

Call Sudbury Aviation in Azilda and ask the chief pilot how long he's been flying there! He may not still be "whittling" props in the bush but he was there in the day.

I quit smoking, but, beyond that... yeah, we're still around.

No way you're an actual bush pilot JC. For me to believe that you'd have to have gotten married in a bush plane.

A) I did, in the mighty otter outside the Calgary Museum.
B) it was in Red Lake, and we had the reception in between flights at the Lakeview Restaurant :D
