ATF Frequency Congestion
For the love of God ... why on earth are all the uncontrolled airports in Canada wedged into the same goddamned 4 frequencies?!
**** NEWS FLASH FOR THE FEDS ****
Any radio made in the last 30+ years is capable of dialling in
say 122.75 or 122.85 ... SO WHY NOT USE THEM?
**** END NEWS FLASH FOR THE FEDS ****
I hate sunny days on weekends. Gimme some wind,
or a scary forecast at least.

I cant imagine how much $$ the government would spend to incorporate a change like this. Whether its needed or not, I cant say, I'm not up there flying enough to know. But it would make sense that you not have 2 airports side by side on the same freq.

Still stuck on dry land.

I used to fly out of an airport with a runway 10/28 that had an ATF of 122.80, and there was another airport just north also with a runway 10/28 and an ATF of 122.80. Needless to say, the radio was almost useless.
What did the genius Feds do? They changed the ATF ... to that of the airport just south of it!
So many tax dollars wasted, so little action taken on behalf of the taxpayers.
Driving into work the other day, I heard that there were over 350 people employed by the city of Ottawa who were salaried over $100K per year. As if all those so-called "civil servants" actually produced that much value.
I'm sure if the numbers came out for other branches of governments, it would be unbelievable.
And not one of them can assign frequencies intelligently

Headley, what do you care you don't use your radio...well at least not to transmit important information about your position and intentions to perform low level aerobatics over the sole runway in SF while others are in the area at an altitude which you are going to fly through......
there's my radio rant, instead of everyone complaining about congestion be happy others are letting you know thier position....this leads to collision avoidance.
