Thinking of travelling to South Africa this winter
Think again.
This website was established by a friend of mine four months ago. Since its inception, it has been closed down three times by the SA government. The URL is now currently registered in the USA to prevent this from happening again. He has also received numerous death threats from those who support and perpetrate the violent crimes listed on a daily basis.
For those travelling or intending to travel to SA, take note. This is information you will not get from your travel agent.
Please take cognisance of the fact that the site does contain some very graphic and disturbing images but there are ample warnings for the more sensitive individuals.

[quote="Shlomo"]I'd say go talk to springbok (unless that is you), he ran away from there. He'll tell you the best routes to take on your way out.
Why would you associate emmigration with "running away". What is this type of comment based on?
South Africans love their country and they are some of the toughest and most resiliant people on this earth. They tend to find solutions rather than run from problems. Not everybody can afford to emmigrate and most have no desire to do so.

Emigrating is always a tough thing to do, considering most people love their countries.
When dealing with springbok, it was a different case. He was trying to steal a little girls bike, when his plans got foiled and the girl got her 3 KG friends to back her up and confronted him, he ran away leaving his wife and two dogs behind.
This is the girl who went after him.

You are most certainly one disturbed dude. What the @#$! has this got to do with the subject matter. You know nothing about Springbok so stop spewing your shit disturbing rhetoric.
Stick to the subject on hand and if you have nothing constructive to add, piss off and leave it to those who might be interested instead of highjacking the thread to satisfy your desire to disrupt and slander.

Bob,
In response to your PM:
You want to pick fights with me and call me names? Do it in public, I am man enough to say it infront of others so why dont you? The whole reason I posted that original PM was so everyone could see what a racist and intolerant prick you are.
Bob I couldnt give two fucks about you or what you think, so just tuck tail go home and keep shining that big shiny plane of yours......it must get lonely being you.

Good point, lets just go back to the original thread and ignore the bullshit that is descending down upon us. Niss, I should have taken my advice to you and ignored him.mellow_pilot wrote:I meant most of the thread... It's just getting rediculous. I've seen edits and warnings for alot less than some of the stuff here... I'm going out.

I may have to go to Rand this winter to do a type rating for someone who bought the PBY there.
I understand that even Sandton is getting to be like J-berg...you have any advice to share?

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Sandton is getting very bad. They are going for the rich and famous and their luxury vehicles. My advice at this stage is not to rent a vehicle but use reputable taxi transport. It is more expensive but safer. Safety in numbers is also worth considering.
If confronted in any way, do NOT offer any resistance or make any threatening moves. That way you will walk away with your life and not become a statistic.
Also do not openly display jewelry, cell phones or wallets / money belts and try not to look like a visiting tourist carrying maps, guide books etc.
Stay off the streets after 22h00.
Shit, there is so much more. I can probably arrange an armed bodyguard for you. Plenty of my mates who will do the favour at little or no cost. PM me before you leave.

Last time we had to do that was in Luanda in 96/97 cost $250.00 for delivery to the hotel and pick up next morning.
I have spent a lot of time in S.A. however last time I was in J-Berg was Dec 1999.
At that time Santon was begenning to have some problems..
..Same for Cape Town, it was just starting to get iffy in some parts of the city.
S.A. is typical of every country in Africa...go back to black rule...go back to the stone age.
I always carry my flare gun when I think I may need it in Africa...that is a very effective attention getter..as long as you have the smarts for when to use it and use it first.

A good mate of mine and his wife who live in Pretoria came home from a night out this last Monday.
5 black thugs jumped them when they drove into their driveway. Shots were fired by the robbers and his wife was struck. He returned fire, killed 2 and the rest got away. By the time the gunfire died down and he rushed to his wife`s assistance, she was dead. Cops arrived and immediately arrested him for murder. They would not even allow him to accompany his wife`s body to the morgue. He was released on bail this morning and is facing two charges of first degree murder. The cops have made no arrests. He is white, they were black...what more can be said. We are busy getting cash sorted out to assist him in his upcoming defence. His firearm has also been confiscated and he now has no means of defending himself as he fears reprisals for the shooting. There is no justice in S Africa anymore...the innocent victims are now the guilty.

I still have good friends there and they are all trying to get their assets out of S.A. and get out.
There is still good coin to be made ferrying rich peoples airplanes out of Africa, but it is getting more dangerous all the time.
I have turned down some work lately because I need a rest from aviation.
Best thing for S.A. would to have every white leave and let the tribes run it......but the bleeding hearts would just try and "help " them and the cycle starts all over.

Makes gun infested downtown Toronto look like a kindergarten!
Maybe this is why:
This from 1994 video footage released bvy a German TV crew with the following caption:
This should be a nice little eye opener for those that see 'Madiba' as a peaceful man....
The killing of South African farmers continues today as we live and breath. The 'people' have spoken.

Archbishop Tutu is suffering from prostate cancer and lives a quiet life far from the political limelight. His last centre stage appearance was in 1995 during the Truth and Reconcilliation Commission (TRC) enquiries , more commonly referred to as the witch hunt.

Well, IDF, I have three things to say about that video.
#1. Translation...it's very seldom 100% accurate. I only speak English and French, so I can't dispute the translation provided...but I do know that translating from English to French necessitates the translator taking some license with choice of words. If a translator is less than skilled, or has a separate agenda, a subtle shift in the translation can result in a change in the meaning of what's said.
#2. What about the white guy standing next to Mandela, singing along?
#3. Springbok has met Mandela personally, and he thinks pretty highly of him. The same can be said for my South African uncle - and I've got more faith in his judgement than I do in a video clip off the internet.
I'm not saying that SA is a land of sunshine and happiness, nor am I saying that Mandela is a saint...I'm saying that one video clip does not a pariah make.

Please don't tell my mother that I work in the Oilpatch...she still thinks that I'm the piano player at a whorehouse.
