Whats Required ? Group 1 IFR over to Group 4

Post by low n over »

Hey.
I'm a 3500hr fixed winger with about 2000 multi pic on PA31's. I hold a current Group 1 IFR and PPC on the Ho. Currently I'm flying helicopters commercialy in VFR ops and I hold a Heli Night rating. I'd like to attain my Group 4 IFR, and am wondering what hoops I have to jump through [training to recommend and ride?] Is a written involved ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Including schools in western canada that provide such training.

Cheers

you got that right. i'm getting comfy being a typical chopper pilot, blissfully unaware of reg's whilst making more flying my 2 seat chopper than I ever did as a fixed winger.

Cheers though.

just had a low time chick here saying that when she did her fixed wing then chopper back to back that she had to do writtens for each IFR as well as a punt load of training.

I'll ask one of the local crossovers, But I expect that, 5.0 of training rotary, a recommendation and a ride.

You could likely combine this with the PPC training for a 212.
