Passes

Post by bear1 »

Hey floks

Just wondering if someone could give me some info regarding passes. I am under the assumption that during the intial training you will get passes to and from "home". I believe this is correct but what I would like to know is will I get passes just for me to one destination after the training is vomplete but before the 6 month point ?

Thanks

You can commute before 6 months (except to Montreal I think).

Nope its only good for commuting pilots.....i.e. travel from your home to your base for the first 6 months. After that fill your boots.

It is exactly as bear1's assumption above. You will be asked in your FOM course where 'home' is, and after that you will be setup to commute between home and training as business passes (no fees) during training, and then personal passes (pay the tax) when you are on the line. This is good just for you and your 'home' airport until 6 mo's is up.

Is there any provision for spousal travel between "home" and new base for house-hunting etc within the first few months? Of course moving expenses are not paid, but it would be nice for one or two standby round trips for the wife to help get us sorted out while I'm busy on course. Heard a rumour about this but it was last year...
