I don't like to slam a colleague, but lay off the Canjet situation. There are few feelings more empty than having your job disappear from one minute to the next, and then spending the next weeks wondering how you will meet your obligations that inexorably continue; hoping that it will all get sorted, but knowing that you're screwed. "Union" has got nothing to do with the despair of facing the choice of losing everything or uprooting your family to take a job at the bottom of a list a thousand miles away. It's not to be made fun of, or appropriate to become the point of sarcasm.
We're all just people, with choices to make every day; switch companies, sign that enrolment card and pay the five bucks, hang tight, ignore the message of the writing on the wall, or recognize that we've got it good. We all make those choices based on the best information we have at the time, and retrospectives are the wrong place to be finding fault. The trick is to learn from it, and the experience of others, before we make the next choice, and then to deal with what comes from it so that we're better prepared for the choice after that.
My heart goes out to the Canjet folks. I've been there and it hurts. I hope everyone lands on their feet and finds their way.

Well aero with rising fuel costs and your very thirsty jets combined with stiff competition and a unhappy pilot group...well lets just say you maybe in the same boat yourself very soon. I wouldn't wish a shut down on anyone so keep you inmature jokes to yourself because the folks at CanJet maybe taking a job you may need next month.aero-singidunum wrote:So, Mike are you leaving? Who left? Few S/O?
Why don't you apply to CanJet? Good place to be, Union, all you need.

I was in that boat few times, (i am collecting parka's) and i am sorry to see any possible employer to go under, just making harder for rest to find that better job.Troubleshot wrote:Well aero with rising fuel costs and your very thirsty jets combined with stiff competition and a unhappy pilot group...well lets just say you maybe in the same boat yourself very soon. But going on forum and cry how bad is company where you work (like Mike) and whine will not help. He can learn a lot from George, a lot....
We all are looking for better job, more pay, security, pension....but if you not happy and wake up every morning with that hate to work aproach, quit, go somewhere, don't try to change company, leave.
Am i clear T/S? It is not a joke. I work in CJ hard to make sure that will be around for more then few months, and you will not see me making stupid comments like some young S/O name Mike. Maybe you should tell him what "my very thirsty airplane" needs .
By the way few guys i know work for CanJet, and they have all the best to say for the Company but not for department that went to UNION. See this line T/S, UNION, WHINE......

If you don't try and change the shitty companys the so called "good" companies can lower there standards too and make the industry one big black hole....see the connection Aero? ? If you set the bar low in the industry thats all you will get..... crap.aero-singidunum wrote:I was in that boat few times, (i am collecting parka's) and i am sorry to see any possible employer to go under, just making harder for rest to find that better job.Troubleshot wrote:Well aero with rising fuel costs and your very thirsty jets combined with stiff competition and a unhappy pilot group...well lets just say you maybe in the same boat yourself very soon. Friend, you are getting sucked into an endless dispute here. Please man, I/we ask, once again, stop speaking on behalf of the pilots at Cargojet. We indeed have some big issues just as any operator will, and they are currently being addressed by good people who are actively correcting concerns we have.
You simply have to stop the commentary of what pilot rank complains more than the other, or or how we are treated or paid. It could be that guys in a certain seat are working alot more than others, or that we are short staff in some seats, or he/she that one seat makes 1/3 of what another seat makes while trying to make as family. It's a drag you have so earned many parkas, and still enjoy trying to slide little comments in on this forum about how whiny pilots are. Let's grow up a bit. Another hint, chek yer frigun gramer befor yoo make fun uv sum guy.

I think this arguement may never end.... No point continuing arguing the same points. Whatever the situation with the pilots, there are those I have spoken to that are happy and those that are not, I dont know the percentage. But that can be said about all the departments in all the airlines. Every airline I have worked for had people with issues, and it will always be like that. We all want what is best for our families and ourselves. Congratulations to those that feel they are improving their situation by moving on, I wish them luck.

Go suck an egg!! and while he is doing that someone tie his hands together so he cant make a bad situation even worse. Also its not just S/O's leaving its Capts, F/O's and S/O's. Maybe they have'nt yet but it's coming, Fast!!!!
What did you suck to bicome "bigcanuck"?
Egg or tie?
Ok, I was cutting you some slack before because I figured that english was not your first language, but this is starting to get ridiculous.aero-singidunum wrote:What did you suck to bicome "bigcanuck"?

I understand that from your view of things, everything is great and you can't figure out why the pilots are complaining. And for some, they have nothing to complain about. But for others, things aren't as good as they once were. They have every right to feel the way they do. A semi-public forum on the internet might not be the best place to air them but they might feel that its the only or easiest to do so.
If you are so in love with the place, please post all the positive stuff that you like about Cargojet. I imagine that someone who reads it might not like that aspect themselves. Its human nature.
Before you read this and reply thinking I'm attacking you, please don't take it that way. You are not going to get the full story of what's happening a Cargojet right now here on this forum or even when you meet the airplane on arrival or when you plug in and talk with the crew prior to the start. Those things are discussed in other places.

No PRAT X3, all good, my point was: if you hate place where you work, leave. I do have more respect for guys that left, then for those who stay and complain. That is all, and I do appreciate your input and view. And also you are right, i am better on few other language's.
Don't you guys notice lately that everything starts with big rumours, then suddenly "shaaabang" the company goes under or big lay offs, like Canjet and ACE!!! Canjet started with the union, and ACE going big!......so everything starts as a rumour at Cargojet, then......let's see what happen!!!! I hope it's something positive 'cuz I know a lot of happy beavers there!
I think we all care that's why we're all here. I have not slammed or thrown any dirt at CJT. Stated some numbers on guys' leaving. Cargojet has made themselves the new jetsgo of night freight. How's those apples Aero ? Sorry just had to say that for my friend
. I know it's a long shot but lets hope management gives the pilot group back the respect and most importantly some "reasonable" numbers to work with before everyone is gone including themselves (not a threat just what I honestly believe). Running that thin will always keep them in the rankings of "learn how to fly jets here". Saying this on a public forum is crap I know, but we all know how well the open door policy works. Anyhow I will deeply miss working with such a great group of AME's & Pilots. Really was a great friendship between the two that's not often seen in the industry today (again just me speaking).
Just out of curiosity, ever experience having the manager (was given the promotion after this) of crew sched show up for the head office Halloween lunch party dressed up as a pilot in diapers with soother and win 1st place from the CEO ? That did wonders for wonders....
See you on the other side,,, flight deck, interview desk, home depot / wal-mart staff room, guy's wahroom, ladies washroom, prison cell. Good luck Gents.
5 Capt's, 4-5 FO's, 5 So's gone or have start dates, that I know of this month.
