Hawkair Fleet ?

Post by fogghorn »

Does anyone know how many -8s HA is operating? I believe they went from 5 to 3 after the restructuring, I hear they may be losing 1 or two more as of the end of Sept? Not much point in staying in business if that is the case.

Fogghorn..

FYI!

Hawkair has 3 DHC 8's. PAX loads are pretty decent right now. They also did some charters for PASCO/ Lodges.

I hope they stay in business..

Great food, great service, great planes. A small improvement in OTP would make them far-and-away the best operator the south side has seen in a while. As far as I know, they have their 3 dash 8's and will continue to operate them at least until their financial review in january.

Thanks for the info, I believe they had some charter work up to YXY recently.

I too hear that loads are decent....however I believe the yield per seat is not doing very well. Hawkair is going to have to show the judge something positive on the financial front in January if they are to stay around.

Fogghorn,

Yes, they did have some charter work up to YXY. (1.5-2 weeks ago?) I haven't really heard too much in they way of "yields per seat". There seems to be alot of specualtion with respect to the court day. (I have heard many conflicting reports.)

Really, it would be a shame to see them go.

The Field -8 is going back at the end of September, and all the financial information on how they are doing can be found here: http://hawkair.ca/page_2147493556.html

I think the return of the Field D8 (if its the ex-military one with long range fuel tanks), may be because of TC being interested in purchasing it...not sure though... :?
