What's needed to fly overseas (Saudi)?

Post by Dusty 3 »

Does anybody have any information (or where to find it) on what's needed to go fly overseas in a corporate market?

Thanks.

Check out Royal Jet in Dubai. Netjets may have an operation in Saudi and Dubai as well. There is some government flying for heads of state with wide range of airplanes from Gulfstreams to BBJ's to B777's and B747-400. Many are local hires coming out of their national air forces, although, they do hire expats with endorsements and time on type. Flight International posts a lot of those jobs. Check out the pprune as well to ask your questions. They have a forum for Middle East. Most of the guys on it are expat (Brits, Aussies and Canadians). PM me and I can put you in touch some Canadians flying B767 and B777 for Gulf Air and Emirates.

Very nice lifestyle if you can handle sunshine, palm trees and swimming pools. Very safe place to live. I've lived there and loved it. Brought the kids and it was a great experience for all of us.

That would be more appropriate if you were flying in the states, wouldn't it?

Jet time and not being a local.

Most of those guys don't hire locals due to the sensitivity of places/people they deal with. They don't want locals knowing where they go, and who they fly.

They'd rather have someone who's there to do the job, fly the airplane.

I second that too!!!
You don't want to fly for Royal family there, I would not do it for any money...although I am a muslim myself..
As for living in the U.A.E ,it is a great place to be ,lots of fun and big bucks..
Cheers

netjets middle east, flying a GIV or Hawker based in Jeddah. 35 days on, 31 days off with airfare included. Do a search for them. FAA license and type rating required.
