And when they get diabetes and go on dialysis guess who has to pay for it… People give smokers a hard time; I think we should be ruder to the fatties, maybe that will motivate some of them…

Walker has a point. We have banned smoking in bars, restaurants, etc.. because it has a negative impact on others. Various governments are suing tobacco companies for health care costs. Smoking is far more difficult overcome than obesity (in non-medical cases, ie there is no medical condition contributing to your weight).

You might argue that smoking around others is harmful and so should be banned, while being obese harms only the individual. Here you would be wrong. Most children of obese parents are themselves overweight. By tolerating such unhealthy lifestyles, we are sentancing millions of children to a life of diabetes, liver and kidney problems, etc etc...

So here's the question, is it ok to be fat?

This is serious. If you keep doing that, they will think that it's OK to be fat because they can still get laid.

It's alot more fun to point and laugh at them. At least it makes them feel that they aren't accepted.

Walkers statement related to healthcare. So, what is tolerable if obesity isn't. You both argue in favor of homosexuality so, a better question is, Is homosexuality ok considering the healthcare risks and costs associated
with the lifestyle? Where do you start banning lifestyle risks?

I am not arguing for or against either, just pointing out the hypocracy of making such statements.

I'm not saying what is tollerable and what isn't. All I'm saying is that if society is going to say it's ok to be morbidly obese, but not ok to smoke, there is a contradiction.

How the hell is being gay a health risk anymore than being striaght? Biology doesn't care about religious biggotry, gay pride, homophobic stereotypes or any other human construct. If you're saying that gay men are more likely to develop an anal fistual, then you're probably right, but doin' a chick up the pooper is just as dangerous. If your saying that being gay makes you more prone to aids, I suggest you do a little research. Any form of sexual activity carries inherent risks. I personally know far more straight girls whom I wouldn't touch with YOUR peeper than gay men!

Further, I don't support homosexuals, anymore than I support Martians. I just oppose non-sensical biggorty. I also oppose double standards. I'm as opposed pride parades as I am to the attitude that you can be ok with your body, even if you're 400lbs. I have no problem with being supportive of young people and deterring a poor self-image, this does not mean that we should raise a generation of children who thin that being fat is just fine and there is no need to look after their health.

Bandit1, I am admittedly more of a avcanada reader than I am a poster. But your post is silly and embarassing to both yourself and avcanada, and has provoked me to reply.

Women are supposed to have curves. Since the beginning of time Man has paid homage to the curves of a woman. Some have more than others. There are some larger women out there that will serve more use to the human race than you ever will with your, as SYTYYZ put it, ignorance. Many women who become that large have bad attitudes because they loose their self respect. Many (perhaps not all) likely have this problem contributed to by boys like you, who have no respect for a soul, and sole respect of only the "most ideal" body. You sound like the fellow who simply relieves himself at home to thw stick figures in magazines that are now considered socially ideal.
You yourself may be a good looking man who can get good looking women into bed. But consider this, there are many people out there who are a little rounder, curvier or larger, who have a much broader outlook on the value of another person. Dont get me wrong there are also many fantastic people who are socially considerd nice looking that dont judge people based on looks.

I suppose regardless of the package you come in, you simply missed the boat on something bigger in the world, which once again makes packaging relatively irrelivant. try getting some respect for the softer sex, and their many soft and very loveable curves.
