From what I understand students are usually allocated to the instructors by the CFI.

If you have a particular instructor in mind though that you want to fly with I'm sure that you could arrange that.

He thinks that the CFI is a jackass. Now, if he said that he thinks he likes tomato sauce with his pasta, would you need a quote from the _New York Times_ to believe that, too?

Is he, or is he not entitled to his opinion?

Hey Mike...

I just finished my PPL there last month and am going back next week to start my Night endorsement. IMHO the instructors there are very professional and courteous.

One thing I was told is that if you have a problem with a particular instructor (be it personal or otherwise) they have no problem in moving you to another instructor.

Just go there, enjoy your flight training and most of all....Have Fun! :smt112

Okay..! Here goes my first post....

When I was a cadet, I finished ground school and was #2 on the waiting list for powered summer camp. Well, that was 9 years ago. Flying would be purely recreational or perhaps as a side job and I don't have any inclinations to become a commercial pilot.

I've been looking at Toronto Airways at Buttonville, Canadian Flight Academy at Oshawa and Canadian Flyers at Markham. The rates for minimum TC hours vary by about $800. At the end of the day, should I care about those? What are the chances of me actually getting my license with the TC minimal hours?

I'm hearing good things about Toronto Airways, but little about the other GTA schools. Is that representative of the number of students, or just that you guys are more vocal/'net savvy? I'm going to get myself a tour of Buttonville hopefully tomorrow.

Mike1209, any thoughts after your first class?

Do I need a fam flight? I've been shooting video out of small planes as well as gone up with Julie Clark at the airshow, so I think I know what "flying inside a little plane" is all about.
