and again here...I'm not trying to start crap just pointing out that none of us really know what schemes and deals are going on in the board rooms.
when the Transat/WestJet contract is up in 2007 and is up for bids and Ken Rowe can stand to make millions from it... don't you think he will ? I mean this guy has been around aerospace for a long time and has some huge resources as well as rich friends who would like to get in on the biz.
grow the fleet to 15 medium and 5 wide body aircraft and cut everyone's throat cost wise....you may all maybe surprised.

But here we are with both sunquest and transit deals signed and you dumbasses are still going on how you your the best and the rest of us are second fiddle - go drink your kool-aid and we'll keep drinking beer....
where did I say that stuff...wasn't me and I wouldn't paint me with the same brush. Was my post saying you weren't getting contracts? think before you open your pie hole.

You know Canjets lease and salary costs?

You are obviously aware of Canjets backup plans for irops as well!
"There is no surprise to me here, nor talking with other higher ups."
So your crystal ball was right! You and your higher ups saw all this coming! Could you do me a favor and look into your crystal ball and tell me the winning numbers for Lotto 649 this Saturday.
Here you are smarty pants...
UAL's 500's leases are 220K/month
to earn enough revenue to service costs and the leases you need 1.8 million/month in revenue per bird to BREAK EVEN.
assuming pilots will come back and currency is falling off a trip to florida or denver will be in the works at 10k each per pilot.
if you want me to be snotty as you guys are implying i will then...Good Luck and keep the resumes out. Two days before Ken pulled the plug He called WJ. He is doing charters because he can't shake the leases he presently has. That's why the other aircraft have gone back.(he could get out of those ones)

Let me remind you about 3 things, Air Atlantic, Canjet 1, Canjet 2 his record in aviation is very poor. How can anyone say it was a sucess. IMP started with fishing equipment and holds the hand of the government(contracts)due to a political hot potatoe in the maritimes. It simply keeps the people employed with the military contracts. He will never use his resources against his airlines. Been proven 3 times now. Even the so called rich friends haven't surfaced yet in the past...why not? therefore Max Wards famous line comes to play...there will always be an asshole that needs to have an airline! This koolaid thing is amazing, when someone likes thier company is that wrong or just the koolaid speaking...lol you guys.
CanadaEH wrote:I don't know who Canjet would be flying for. It's mid-September and most if not all charter companies are already promoting their schedules for the winter season. If anyone hasn't, they probably won't. Both Sunquest and Transat have flying committed to Skyservice and Westjet metal, respectively.

I've stated my reasoning for Canjet not getting the contract WS has, and I'll leave it at that. If there's one thing about our industry it's that nothing is for certain.. wouldn't want to be wrong, again....
Po'dcjer, such a mouth, and only weeks ago you were dreaming about a job with those Kool-aid drinking assholes after your bunk company went under and fucked you. Yet here you are defending the idiots. Get real.

I said he could...not he would.
And when I say rich friends I'm talkin about his fellow shareholders at the Royal Bank...but more to the point simply an IPO would be the difference in Mr. Rowe sinking money into his airline, and I think you are quick to down-play IMP's size and power in the aerospace world, saying he is only successful out in the east coast is because of the government is ignorant, name me a provincial or federal government that hasn't invested in a business in their home province by way of grants, tax breaks, etc... you can't because they all do it every year...why because it's in their best interest.
with that aside I was just stating what may happen if the right people get on board with this little airline and maybe take it to the next level...
I agree Ken Rowe hasn't got a great record but you can't dismiss this venture as it is a different avenue and with new opportunites.
I don't even work for this company and look I am ranting about them like it's my ship...anyway just my thoughts.
ok so has the smoke cleared yet? what does it all mean? Is WJ doing any charters out of the maritimes and will it all be Canjet? OR does it all mean that Canjet is once again getting the scraps that westjet doesn't/can't fly? There's obviously more demand than WJ has airplanes out there, so I'm thinking it's the latter.
Flightlevels
I wasn’t trying to be a smarty pants. I’m just pissed off. It’s the old mushroom thing; we are being kept in the dark and fed shit. Sorry if it was directed at you. The math still doesn’t work out at six aircraft and they are not leased from UAL.
scrap the airbus rumour, it's not happening from what I hear. I'm starting to wonder what KR's plans are now when those leases are up. This is starting to sound like temporary measures to make use of those airplanes.
220k for the 500 leases, you're joking right? Whoever told you that has no idea what IMP is paying for them, the only people that do are a very few within IMP. Two days before he made the announcement to close up shop it was the middle of labour day weekend. Exactly who was he calling at WestJet?
I'm not defending old uncle Kenney by any strecth, I think he's a scumbag operator, but if you guys (flightlevels, eh canada, etc.) are going to spout off about things as if they are fact then back it up with something. Your whole attitude smacks of the arrogance and superiority that you used to despise in Air Canada. You might not see it but everybody else does.

Canjet is getting the "scraps" (not my term) that WS can't fly. All of this flying was offerred to WS and WS did not have enough lift to do it.
WS is doing charters out of the Maritimes, YHZ, YFC, YYT, and YQM.

I'm not joking, do ya think this stuff can't be obtained legally? if you think not your smoking a big one. These are infact the leases and the revenue that must be generated to compensate for fuel, wages etc. I didn't make them up.Yes Ken made a call to the executive two days prior asking for a possible sale. I'll leave it at that. If it isn't good enough, too bad. I have confidence in whose mouth it came from. I am not being arrogant, I view my statements as factual. I am glad he is putting some back to work. Ken can't be trusted period. You will never see an IPO in place in the next year with the management talent and contracts presently in place. Even if the whole transat thing was yours. Hopefully that may change for the sake of the employee.
Folks get out of Canjet/IMP AS SOON AS YOU CAN. The industry is hiring like mad and you 100 pilots are the most experienced out there. You will all find good jobs within 6 months. Stop the abuse cycle and go get good careers. Go back to Cj to pay the bills but plan your your exit. It would be righteous if KR could not meet his commitments because his work force leaves.
Of the 110 or so pilots that canjet had, from facts and some rumors I think they have already lost about 25 pilots. Not bad for just being closed up 1 month. there are also a shitload more talking to potential employers and could and probably will leave very soon.
From what I've been keeping track of there's 19 gone, 10 were captains. Another 5 captains going for short term contracts. Then there's at least 30 with good solid interviews completed. Thats just the ones I know of. The barndoor is wide open. There's very few people out there that are thinking this is going past April. They should factor in the "you get what you pay for" when thinking of crews and numbers. This is a short term contract at best. They should think of jacking up the pay and perdiems to maybe offset the bad feelings. This is a contract they have to fullfill. They're going to need everyone working together as a team. They cant have any more St Martain fiascos. Thats of course if they are looking past April.
