Former Skyward Employee Court Date????????

Post by fallonmyass »

Does anyone know when the court date with the independent referee in Winnipeg is or the number to call and find out?

Hearing date Skyward

Post by Crackberry »

The hearing that was for the vacation pay and such owed by THE DIRT BAGS OF SKYWARD. Was this past week in Winnipeg on the 11th of October. The arguments were heard by the appointed lawyer and lasted only the morning about 3 hrs. Unfortunately none of us working EMPLOYEES could make it, although our lawyer was there. G.P. the church minister was in attendance. The referee has reserved his decision from 4 days to 6 weeks so we shall see what comes of it hopefully money in our pockets.

Thanks for the replyCBerryThanks for the reply CBerry,
If I was not represented by a lawyer and I didn’t show for the court date, do I now lose that vacation pay that I was entitled to?

It already passed. All looks ok. Even if you do not have the lawyer it will still go ahead. Seems like the claim whether the appointed refereree is qualified has been dropped by the employers.
I'm sure the former employers of Skyward are going to drag this out as long as they can because everyone know that they have more money then us. We are the ones who were left high and dry!!!!!!!!!

Okay.. I totally missed this.. The last I know was from the letter from Human Resource Canada stating that all the "DIRECTORS" resigned before I got lay off and hence they didn't owe me anything. I didn't know there is a court case for it. They owe me about 1 year of vacation pay. Can someone update me on what's going on with the legeal battle and what should I do now? and of course I have no money to hire a lawyer. Please PM me.

Where have you been?

It amazes me that almost 2 years in the making and people are still coming out of the woodwork on this topic. We have approached all/most to join the group with our lawyer and it was like we were asking for their left NUT to get people to join.

HEY THE NEWS IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The former owners lost the case with the referee in court. They have 30 days to pay up or take to supreme court. I fully expect them to challenge each employee individually. To the person who skipped the country, I guess you should have been man enough to stick around and fight for what you thought was owed to you.

We still have a long way to go but Im glad someone saw that even though the owners have big bucks, sometime the money or "the higher power" cant save you when you down right DO THE WRONG THING!!!
Hopefully you are running your new company better than you did the last one, Sometimes its better to ensure that your airplanes are safe and your books reflect the same. at no fault to your employees, it shouldnt always be about "GET THE PLANES OUT REGARDLESS"

Thanks for the link- had not seen that one!
Rather an unfortunate reflection really- 99.9% of all the skyward guys have made a go of it. I dont know who that is but I am suprised to say the least.
Sorry to say the guy who started that post clearly has some issues!

Anyway looking forward to seeing if FB and co will roll over or keep fighting the vacation pay battle. Good on everyone who chipped in to bring it to where it is.
