CBC Leafs Bias
OK I have a real problem with the CBC's affair with the leafs. Maby this is only an issue with eastern Canada, but I know when I was living in Calgary, people there still seemed aware of it.
I was just on the NHL website and have to admit that I don't really understand the scheduelle. CBC seems to be double booking their games for some saturdays, (first game), as some are marked CBC, and some CBC,RDS. and in some cases, just CBC for two games. Anyway.
I looked through the scheduelle and marked down how many times each team (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal) was scheduelled to play on CBC on Saturday night first game.
Toronto- 26 games
Ottawa - 16 games
Montreal- 13 games
Now. The games that have two of the mentioned teams playing each other.
Toronto vs. Montreal- 6 games
Toronto vs. Ottawa - 2 games
Montreal vs. Ottawa - 2 games
So if you remove those games, and show only the games that arent obviously going to be shown.
Toronto- 18 games
Ottawa- 12 games
Montreal- 9 games

Really sick of it.

The Leafs are God's Team so the CBC is just doing God's work.

Well your favorite team is from western canada, so this really wasn't written for you, but its not just their overwhelming favortism of toronto in their showing of games, but how their comentators verbaly show who they are for.
Again this is for eastern canadian hockey fans.

The CBC hired a statistics consulting organization to figure out how to get the Leafs adequate air time while having to compensate for their absence from the post-season or at least first round for the next 50 years.
At least you can always count on a months worth of hockey season with LEAF-FREE TV!

it's called money,
they've tried showing the flames and the oilers and the canucks which they still do now and then.
the fact is there is not enough viewers!
there is a high density of leaf fans in vancouver calgary and edmonton and everyother city in canada.
the leafs are always going to get the highest ratings by far.
why?
because the leafs are the biggest nhl team in north america with the biggest fan base by far.

I think it may also be the fact that if they showed Vancouver and pheonix at 9pm (6 Vancouver time) in To who would watch. Just like us watching TO and Buf at 3 in the afternoon. I know I dont. They just happen to have several million more people in that neck of the woods that we do here. Just life.
