What a wonderful PC world!
Brest cancer kill approximately 400,000 people a year; Well over $1Billion a year is raised cumulatively through the various Brest cancer funds. That’s an average of $2,500 donated per death per year.
Well over 12,000,000 people die each year from starvation (note $1B into 12M is about $83 each)
Malaria kills about 1,200,000 a year more than 90% of these people never received access to treatment; the average total cost of treatment is between $0.40 and $2.40 (note $1B into 1.2M is $833 each)
TB kills in excess of 1,600,000 a year
Should I go on?
Now there is certainly something to be said about global overpopulation; and I am not suggesting that cancer does not deserve respect; but there are IMHO FAR more worthy causes for that sort of expenditure of resources; My money does not go towards cancer (NOTE I like all other people on this bored have had a number of people in my family get and a few die of cancer) But to look at something this serious with an emotional response rather than a rational one is dangerous IMHO.
