Avcanada’s Bachelor & Bachelorette competition !!!!

Post by ... »

I think we should have a long weekend where some lucky ladies show up at YHM for a fun filled 4 days of superduperfun with the nicest guy EVoHR to walk on this planet! Greg Haza!!!

Then the next weekend we'll have a lucky lady have bachelors spend a weekend with her along the same theme to the TV show the bachelorette!!!

This will all be taped and sold to people that wish to purchase the tape where proceeds goes to Breast Cancer research. Hopefully either WestJet or Air Canada will donate seats for our bachelors and bachelorettes to travel across the country!

Thoughts?

IABD

Not sure if this is the time to mention this, but:

1) 1 in 10 women will get breast cancer
2) 1 in 2 men will get prostate cancer
3) 10 times as much money is spent on breast cancer research, compared to prostate cancer research.

What a wonderful PC world!

Brest cancer kill approximately 400,000 people a year; Well over $1Billion a year is raised cumulatively through the various Brest cancer funds. That’s an average of $2,500 donated per death per year.

Well over 12,000,000 people die each year from starvation (note $1B into 12M is about $83 each)

Malaria kills about 1,200,000 a year more than 90% of these people never received access to treatment; the average total cost of treatment is between $0.40 and $2.40 (note $1B into 1.2M is $833 each)

TB kills in excess of 1,600,000 a year
Should I go on?

Now there is certainly something to be said about global overpopulation; and I am not suggesting that cancer does not deserve respect; but there are IMHO FAR more worthy causes for that sort of expenditure of resources; My money does not go towards cancer (NOTE I like all other people on this bored have had a number of people in my family get and a few die of cancer) But to look at something this serious with an emotional response rather than a rational one is dangerous IMHO.

Am I allowed to mention that the reason for the millions of malaria deaths in recent decades was due to the hysteria of the dope-smoking 60's lefties who had DDT banned?

Probably not, huh?

DDT would've ended up screwing a whole lot more than those malaria victims. The lack of that crap breaking down and it's movement into the human food chain would @#$! is in the end. All of us. Not just impoverished countries. Is that any worse?

And getting back to the prostate cancer, I'm all for anyone who wants to promote the lack of awareness compared to breast cancer.
