Fact: Airco does not own any aircraft involved with Quikair.
Fact: The politics of ERAA was what drove Quikair out of CYXD which was their first downturn. Very regrettable since it was a needed service.
Fact: envelops does not imply bag run...Einstein!
Fact: DAK owns the aircaft as well as many of alta Flights airplanes!!
Quikair:
Valid post. But we know all too well that it only takes one in the proverbial crowd to leave a bad taste ...or image.
I witnessed (edited...we dont name people here...learn this, or be toast) unprofessional outburst in YMM and I was very disappointed is his behaviour. That was not good for Quikair's image.
Nonetheless, hope all is well for aircrews and agents...they are awesome people/

Did Quikair re-acquire their aircraft then? They shut some of their offices/facilities which would indicate that it's more than just a temporary blip and lack of aircraft?
There's still nothing on their website, and they're still accepting bookings...
So either they are accepting bookings that they know they can't fullfil... or they are back up and running a normal scheduled operation?

A check of tomorrows listed departures ex YYC doesn't show any activity for Quikair.

Any word on whats going on with Quikair? Their online reservation system just tells you that all their flights are sold out. Seems highly unlikely. Is Peace Air still doing flights for them?...Out of Control wrote:Peace Air was doing there flight's on Friday that's what I hear.
It was just on the local news here in Edmonton. Apparently Quikair is done like dinner. All the passengers were redirected to the peace air counter and it seems like full refunds are being offered. Too bad..... Hopefully everyone is able to find jobs elsewhere with the holiday season soon upon us
Calgary news as well, doors are locked up and phones are not being answered. Grumpy pax who require a refund are being given a fax number only or the company address for a written request.
I can see some lawsuits in the near future, as I would bet that not many will get refunds, seeing as they owe a LOT of people a LOT of money.
I do hope and expect the pilots to pick up new jobs soon, although they may have to deal with some negative stereotypes, which are likely undeserved.

Airlines - Calgary-based QuikAir, a regional airline that served business travellers in Alberta, has folded.
The airline was launched in 2001 and offered more than 20 daily flights between Edmonton and Calgary.
The airline originally flew between Calgary and Edmonton's City Centre Airport, but was later forced by Edmonton Airports to use Edmonton's international airport, thereby losing its advantage for many customers, airline analyst Rick Erickson said Thursday.
QuikAir battled Edmonton Airports over its 10-passenger maximum for city centre flights and witRating 2eld fees until it lost a court case on the issue.
"I lament the fact it's gone, but that's typical for a tier three airline. There's no shortage of entrepreneurial zeal in Canada, but the challenge always comes on the financial side," Erickson said.
Edmonton Airports spokesman Jim Rudolph couldn't say if QuikAir owes the authority any money

Just go to google news and search for quikair. There are a couple of articles there. Some made mention of several airlines being contacted about taking over routes into Penticton. Any idea who has been "contacted?" CorpEx? Peace Air?...tincanflyer wrote:anyone have a link to the article?
