A Message To All BC Lions Fans

Post by critical engine »

It's not uncommon, that at this time of year, people who where born in a sub-par area of Canada come out of the wood work, to unite in a social cause.
These are the same people whom left their so called "home land" to find normal spouses, jobs, and other basic necessities that could only be found in other parts of Canada. An area so desolate, that it could not even hold an AHL team yet alone a NHL team. Yes! You guessed it; I'm talking about Riders Fans.

Let us not shun these poor refugees of the golden tundra, but be happy for them, as the only thing they have to look forward to, is their beloved Riders. This year you will see more green than usual as they were fortunate enough to make the playoffs. (Of course in a league where 6 out of 8 make it, you’d have to be an idiot not to) Those fortunate ones, who have been saving their pennies, will take time off work this weekend, and travel to Vancouver for their one vacation of the year. If, by slim chance, they are able to beat the ferocious beasts of the west, they will take next year’s vacation to travel to Winnipeg. But do not fret as our day light savings challenged friends have a huge mountain to climb still.

Therefore, I urge my fellow Lions, that when you see these poor green weird people running around on Sunday to just let them be. To remember that this day is the greatest day of the year for a Saskatite. To remember the real reason they don't take part in DST is so the kickoff can come one hour earlier. To remember, that they too, are Canadian, and we should treat them with respect. To remember not to block the entrance to their short buses.

However, I urge you Lions not to let your guards down. Although they look green and leprechaun like, they won't go down without a fight. Thankfully, we learned our lesson last year, this year we're going to Winnipeg

PS. Why would a team so reliant on agriculture use a mascot that destroys their farms and fields? Just so weird

Son, someday you will make a girl very happy, for a short period of time. Then she`ll leave you and be with new men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men are called pilots.

As a Bombers fan, though it pains me to do so, I will be cheering for the Green & White just so I can bring my banjo to the Grey Cup...Go Riders (ouch) it hurt even to say it

Be careful what you wish for. If we make it to Winnipeg we might burn it to the ground with all the partying. I could see it being pretty crazy if Saskatchewan makes it there.

We in Winnipeg have been briefed about the GREEN folks who may be here. As such we won't be giving instruction on the prouduction of fire to any saskabushers, and as a westerner and a BLUE fan, GO RIDERS...

It will be fun if the Riders make it... I'll give the Rider fans that, they do know how to party and we'll be more than happy to separate them from a few hundred bucks of their money..lots of stuff to do here during Cup week..parties galore and pubs are going to be open til 3am instead of the normal 2am.. ..temps are forecast to be -9 or so..not warm but bearable...

Incase you didn't hear, CBC is giving away SuperPasses to the Grey Cup, if you can answer the trivia. I think you can enter online. Also, it's not sold-out yet which you think it would be if the Riders are playing. I wonder if there will be alot of BC fans.

I'm more interested in all the fun things like Magic of Manitoba Socials happening. Incase you don't know what a social is, it is kind of like a wedding reception but less fancy. It is usually a fundraising social in a community hall packed with lots of long tables. There's a musicman, silent auctions, food (usually bread, cheese, ham and salami),beer/liquor, and sometimes there are fights if there are too many youngens around because they like to stand around the bar and bump into everybody.

grey cup always sells out once the two teams have been decided. There's no point for Riders fans to buy tickets now, as their team won't be there

Would you accompany me to a Social? I like the drinking and fighting part the best. I also enjoy cheese.

So what the NFL is way more exciting?????

please with a shorter field, smaller ball, and 40 second play clock, to name a few.The National Fag League is better!!!!

If it wasn't for the American media pumping billions of dollars into footage and highlights the game would be boring.

You stick with your basic, boring, game that even the Blue Bombers could do well at. leave the real sports to the men.
