Good day all, Skyharbour in Goderich Ontario is looking for AME's and apprentices. A good friend of mine is in charge of the maintenance there and has told me they are are very busy . Good people to work with, so if anyone is intrested give em a call.Good luck

just wondering....anyways about Skyharbour, i use to work there...not to bad a place but don't get your hopes up about getting your logbook filled in to quick, working conditions are sub-par, and the most you get to do there is remove and re-install flight controls, and if your lucky maybe do some flight control balancing. On the plus side you do get to work on lots of different planes, Citations, Lear, Twin Otter, King airs galore, but again it's re+re the flight controls. Anyways just my to cents. If you get talking to Ken Popp, tell him Fox say's "whatever".

i was just visiting one of our airplanes at godrich aircraft refinishing, (located in huron park, ontario) and there's definitly not much maintenance going on there. like Fox 3 said, don't expect to get your logbook filled out very quickly...from the looks of things all the maintenance they're doing is removing/installing flight controls, and rigging said flight controls. on the structures side of things, however, there is TONS of work at a refinishing shop. they pay very well for class S guys.

I did some contract work for Goderich a few years ago, but not before I worked in their shop in huron park. I was shocked at the general "tone" of the place. Lots of work, busy place but the attitude of the bosses was terrible. the coffee room and offices were locked out to all employees, like they were "dirty, or un-clean". The owner was a typical big-shot, and all the important jobs were done by family members, regardless of their qualifications. There were a few really excellent people working there in the shop, and the cabinet shop was amazing. I would have to agree that the apprentices will be USED for cheap labour, and that the flight control assembly is pretty much all they do. the licensed engineers came and went as fast as a revolving door would allow......as long as they could keep finding new ones to replace the ones that left, they were happy...also, the pay was sub-standard, and they tried to cheat me out of $4000.00. Do I sound bitter?...NOOO...
