Most majors seem to hiring alot of new people, due to retirment and new aircraft. I would think it would be easy with your hours. Check out AC, west jet all those guys. I friend of mine was just hired on at westjet and seems to really like it.

"Can I use my foreign pilots license to get a Canadian pilots license?
Yes. Transport Canada will issue a Canadian license provided:
the applicant shows a valid foreign license from a contracting state of the International Civil Aviation Organization (IACO)
evidence of the date of the last medical examination
payment of the $45.00 certificate fee
the applicant has not been previously denied a Canadian license on medical grounds."

I am going to try and not be ignorant here but doesn't anyone feel the "canadian job for canadian people" at least until we run out of our supply? There are lots of you guys who are well qualiiedd to fly 737's in Canada. Wouldn't you feel any frustration if someone came in and "took" your job from you? There are lots of countries that wouldn't even look at you twice and send you home if you tried to get jobs in their country. I don't know but I would rather help out my fellow canadian ty and get a job before someone from another country. Before I jump the gun I will assume the original poster is not a canadian. If I am wrong, my apologies and please don't take it personal. I would very much understand if you felt the same way about your country. Maybe its just me but fair is fair.

We need a bunch of 4200 hour guys with 4000 SIC on type and their type ratings bought and paid for.
Soon we'll all be able to justify buying our own transport category aircraft type rating too!
I've been eyeing a new 777 type rating and it looks pretty sweet, and that 787 is gonna be really nice! But as it stands I just can't justify the expense when I know if I stay the course in 3 or 5 or ? more years I might get one for free! But with a bunch of foreigners flying around and airlines hiring only typed pilots I'm gonna need to fork out to reach my career goals. I'll be able to explain that $20K expense to my wife! Sweet I can taste the airlines already...
the above comment was not necessarily the view of the poster but likely an expression of sarcasm at the prospect of foreign workers with bought and paid for experience taking canadian jobs and sinking our industry even lower.

"Citizenship and Immigration Canada has announced that it will increase the 2007 immigration targets by 5.2 percent, the largest increase in the past 15 years.
In tabling its annual report in Parliament on Tuesday, Citizenship and Immigration Canada said it plans to admit between 240,000 and 265,000 permanent residents in 2007. The target this year is 225,000 to 255,000, and the government expects the final figure will be in the upper end of that range."
Altiplano, that includes pilots. Deal with it.

Pilots are not included in the liste, believe me, just people with degrees and refugees (and normally refugees are not pilots).
So if you are a pilot and you want to emigrate to Canada, you will need another profession.
