Multi PIC piston vs. turbine FO time
If a person can choose what type of time to build, what is considered more important by the airlines for employment, multi PIC piston time or FO turbine time??
Assuming all basic requiremtnts are met (i.e. ATPL), with lots of PIC time and say 100hrs multi PIC.
Which would you choose and why!

Multi time is like sex.
Many souls roam the earth in search of it.
Some are willing to pay for it ,
Some want it for cheap,
Some want it for free,
and,
Some want to get paid for it.
Good luck in your journey, and remember, since it's just like sex, always be safe

Depending on what your experience is to date,
I'd be going with the Multi-PIC until you have at least 500 hours Of MPIC, than do the transition. Employers will look at you with more regard when you apply to them.
Case in point, say the industry slows up again, you take the turbine FO postion, it will be harder for yourself to get on somewhere as captain on an aircraft as your PIC time is not there.
Also, if you are actually asking this question I don't think that you need to be worrying about the majors yet as I am guessing your hours are not up there that much, I could be wrong though.
Best of luck with your decision

Multi PIC, why perfect example.
We got 2 individuals that got 4K on the caravan and are not able to fly MOH flights because they only got 50 hours multi pic, so they are having to build up there multipic on the chartered end only.
Multi pic is the way to go until you got some time on them

That is because the MOH are not familiar with modern aircraft .They have only been building Caravans since 1985 .
They would rather have someone who has flown a piece of shit multi- piston than someone who has flown a Modern turbine fully equiped with GPS ,Radar,Auto-pilot,
Luddittes have a better understanding of the new machines than some of those guys.

/correct, along with flyinhigh in regards to Bandit.2R wrote:That is because the MOH are not familiar with modern aircraft .They have only been building Caravans since 1985 .

piston Multi PIC vs F/O Turbine
PA-44 or C310 vs Metro, P180, KA, ATR, 1900,
I'll take the F/O gig, because atleast, even in the worst case scenario you'll probably be making more than the PIC of the two pistons, and you probably didn't pay for the PPC, you'll also be at a place which will eventually promote you... Basically and yes it's apples to oranges, NxXjet vs Georgian, CMA, Perimeter, First Air.
PIC time at Buffalo airways vs a small charter outfit with 1 KA or a PA-31T or PA-42 f/o time.
I'd take the DC-3 time, why pay for the PCC at the smaller place.
I think from the way I look at it...
Time is great and dandy, yes, PIC vs F/O matters, but it should also depend on WHERE you work and how many people work with you, if it's a 1 plane op and you're SPIFR 24/7(minus CARS legalities) where is the networking, why would the next place hire you when they can hire their friends that they worked the ramp with at their last gig.
And when it comes to the big airlines, where you might be a number, the seminole time won't get you anywhere vs the 2 crew aircraft time. I'd also take the PIC EFIS PC-12 time vs the PIC seminole time, because they usually atleast looking at the emirates application, it's time, category and EFIS.
