New airline in Hamilton?

I heard on some news program more than a week ago that there was an impending announcment by the Hamilton mayor and airport that there was going to be another irline beginning service in Hamilton.

Has the news been released? Has anybody heard anything?

I did a little resaerch and answered my own question. Canjet is going to begin service April 19th from Hamilton. They are going to do 3 daily flight between Ottawa and YHM, and 1 a day with Montreal.

Canjet is going in to fill the slots left open by Westjet. Westjet on 18th of April is moving majority of operations from YHM to YYZ New Terminal One. Hence all the fuzz about gates with AC.

Westjet knows they can service more of the population out of YYZ. And is setting up for its flights to the states and more charters. Terminal One new will have a better customs setup than YHM. In fact it just better.
I for one am happy that Canjet is going in behind Westjet as opposed to ZIP or Jetsgo.

Canjet will be able to keep the Maritime population happy and Westjet will continue with its Maritime flights to YQM and YHZ plus NFLD, just on a smaller scale. Also Westjet will continue its Air Biz to YOW.........

Plus Westjet can Lease out its new hanger!!!

Just an FYI

As pilots we should be happy that both CAN and WESTJET are around!!

Good for Hamilton too.

I know they were pretty pissed when West Jet pulled out. It was going to leave them with a new terminal and no one to put in it.
