A political party from Saskatchewan came up with the idea to flatten the Rocky Mountains to improve the view. Only someone from Saskatchewan can relate to that. There you can sit on your porch for 3 days, watching your daughter run away from home. On a clear day you can see yesterday's train. Actually, I read where Japanese tourists come to Yellowknife to view the Northern Lights for the same reason they go to view the Grand Canyon or Disneyland or we go to view Mount Fuji. It is or can be a tourist attraction. Northern Lights are more visible because the background lighting (from cities) is less there.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

I lived in Sarnia for 20 years and never saw them once. You sure it wasn't fungus induced?

Nah they've been here a bunch of times in the past few years.
The ones I saw at that party were over the lake in July and the nicest, most colourful were in Dec at Canatara Beach!
No fungus!

Enroute from La Grande QUE to Pickle Lake, 10,000 feet in a 414... Middle of February = amazing show - by the way, winds were so strong, we were only grounding 95kts, as low as 80 at one point, thats about 100kts on the nose

On the Red Eye back from Vancouver I was on the southside of the aircraft so at first I didn't see anything. Later in the flight I was invited into the cockpit to talk to the capt and their it was and WOW pretty cool. So everytime I take the red eye I make sure my window is facing north.
