It starts about halfway between Pond Inlet and Resolute Bay and is from FL 270 and above. RAC 2.3

And if god loves you, you'll never have to go there...

It used to be FL280 up there.. now it's FL270.

Pond Inlet is a beautiful spot. One of the nicest in the Arctic! Wouldn't want to live there, but nice to drop in from time to time....

Co-joe,

I've gone there...flying from Paris to Calgary. Didn't feel like God had forsaken me.

 uh...I guess not. But if you'd had to land there you might have changed your mind.

In fact when you're medevacing into YIO in the dark season it only adds insult to injury to know that in a little while you'll be standing on a ladder in winds of 45G50 at -35 to spray prist into the fuel, while somebody at FL 370 is going to Europe at that moment, probably sipping tea, telling jokes, talking to FA's... :)

haha, that may be true, but who is having more fun?
If I wanted to drive a bus, then I would drive a bus... especially one that didnt cost 50000 to MAYBE obtain. But I want to fly to exotic places, and do things other than just sit there and watch a computer fly.

So IMO, shooting an approach in the Arctic in the dark season is a bit more appealing to me than sitting in the Airbus cattle shuttle.

Ya you cant beat flying in to YIO in sept and seeing icebergs from june, or whenever they melt. Nice scenery, especially the icebergs with holes in them that you can fly your plane through... Oh did i just say that on
avcanada?

Maybe when i go to Eureka this week ill send a postcard from the worlds most northern postoffice. Hopefully we dont get stuck in YRB..

Anyways, better charge up the MP3 player for that one. Gotta love flying in the arctic.
