voyageur airlines questions

What did they promise you? A hotel room? room in a compound? Living in a military camp? Internet available? A cell phone? How many AME's are you going to work with? Are you even allowed to give out this information? Now that everyone knows who you are. But on-on...
Is Voyageur on an equalized maint. program with their overseas A/C or do they bring them back for major inspections?
"Holy cr-ap" honesty is hard to find these days. I worked for a company overseas in africa/Asia/Caribbean and if you want can give you my e-pinion.
If Yoyageur was to offer 6 and 6 in/out) like CHC they might not need to look for so many people.

There is only 1 base that the living accomadations is in a compound.
All bases have wireless internet, many people bring xbox, PS, etc.
The -8's are all on equalized maintenance program.
Bases that have only 1 airplane have 1 ACA and 1 apprentice or AME.
Rotation is 8 and 4.

ok-you haven't scared me away yet...
what is a typical day like at one of these bases in africa?
if the money is less, than what does voyageur provide to its employees to make them want to continue going overseas??
there is only so much x-box and internet that people can stand...
send over a bowflex and some weights

I spoke to an AME that did one rotation with them. He said they use ladders to work on the A/C (A frames). They work out of containers and all the parts are in boxes (but they are labelled). Living accomodations certainly was not described as being in a hotel room.
The money was described as good. The perdiem was good (50 plus 50 US for danger pay). He said the people were good to work with.
But it was not for him. No recreational activities to speak of. And he has no use for an X box or a bowflex......no his interests lay elsewhere and they were not available there........Said he was in the middle of nowhere.
I don't think he was too impressed with the internet service either....
Africa contract + reliable Skype = happy spouse

Here's a thread that might make one wonder if 50 bucks a day for danger, is worth it. The perdium is a joke, I make that in Canada.
