Average time for Jazz
Just wondering what most guys/gals got for time by the time jazz called.
I got called the other day, the resume they had from me was a year old, only had 2100 hours it. That the norm there must be eh, seems low if it is

The time to upgraded to senior FO is 5 years. If you weren't born a capt. then you will never be one at Jazz.Four1oh wrote:what's the wait time for an upgrade at Jazz these days?
Seriously, the most jr. captain started in 1998. but there are a whole lot of people hired from 1998-2001 waiting with only yul/yyz as bases that you will ever see an upgraded in less than 15 years.

Thare is a lot of factors to consider. Yeah the most jr Capt was hired 98-99 or so. But there was no movement what so ever between 01-05. A fair amount of people that where hired between 98-01 have gone to AC, WJ, CX etc. Including some of the new hires as well.
Right now there is attrition at Jazz, Specially on the FO or Jr capt side. So as an FO, you are building up seniority.
There will be mass retirements coming up (not for a while though probably in 7-10 years).
There are Capt positions opening up out west, they are being filled by Capts. who have been commuting to the east, which is opening up more spots in the east.
Not sure about the RJ, but they are short of Captains on the Dash.
Right now, I would say 5-6 years. However that number could go down in the future depending on what happens......or it could go the other way as well who knows. Its aviation anything can happen. You can look at the glass being half full or half empty.
But having said all that. It is a long wait to the left seat. You will probably see the left seat sooner at AC or WJ.
